How did you choose a creative path?

Deciding to pursue an artistic or creative career path isn’t for the faint of heart. Challenges will abound, but so many of the artists we speak with couldn’t be happier with their choice. So, we asked them about how they made the decision in the first place.
Being creative is what brings me happiness and after years of doing something that I didn’t truly love, I decided to pursue something that I felt was purposeful. I worked in the education field for over 15 years and would get small opportunities to be creative but it just wasn’t enough for me. Music has been my jam since I was around 4-5 years of age. I remember going to those house parties where my cousin played guitar, and I was hooked. After trying so hard to do something else, I always ended up working on a song at 3 in the morning. It’s a part of me that wouldn’t be ignored. Read more>>
For the money and stability…HA! But seriously, I do it because I can’t NOT do it. I am constantly hearing song ideas in every day conversations, sometimes at the worst possible times. For example, several years ago my wife and I were in an argument and she said something that was an amazing hook…I tried so hard to stay engaged, but all I could think about was what a killer Country song she had just given me.
