We had the good fortune of connecting with Will Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Will, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
For me this business has been years in the making, I just didn’t know it yet. As a true blooded entrepreneur thats 37 and never had a real job Ive started, failed, grown, and succeeded in many different niches/businesses. This has given me a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a huge network in many different spaces.

My thought process on this new venture (Ruckus Capital) is a perfect combination of passion, experience, and timing. I have a burning passion for startups and helping founders turn their dreams into realties. With many of those dreams solving real world problems and shaping the world of tomorrow. I also have real world experience, a vast understanding, and a large network but not the focus to be a founder. Thats why Ive found my perfect niche as a venter capitalist, where I can serve my strengths to help many different founders create wonderful lasting businesses. Timing, I want to enter a market when that market is experiencing compression and pull back where I can gain market share.

What should our readers know about your business?
I didn’t come from wall street or an ivy league institution and I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. Im a hard working, shoot you straight, no BS farm boy from eastern Kentucky. I’m a college drop out, young father and husband. I’m 37, never had a real job, and a true blooded entrepreneur. Ive failed businesses, screwed up, and done things wrong. Ive also had a few successful businesses exits, licensed a NASA technology, learned from my mistakes, took 655 apartments full cycle, a published author, launched 5 Reg D offerings, managed investment funds, bought and sold companies, built global partnerships, been involved in over a $1B+ worth of transitions, father of 3, still married to my wife of 15 years, help others daily, and active in my church’s youth program.

I may not be the poster child of venture capital but I do know how to find, invest right, add value, mentor and grow businesses. With my passion, experience and established network Im on a mission to build a global powerhouse by investing in relentless early stage, high growth companies pioneering the next generation of real world technology.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It would depend on which friend it was ultimately and where we would be located. Without a doubt I could sum it up with three words, exploring. adventure, and wonder.

We would eat local cuisine to experience the local culture. Might have a few drinks from local coffee shops or breweries. We might be outside most of the time, again experiencing the local culture, attending local events, going to local landmarks. We treat ourselves to a good time and defiantly have fun for a unforgettable week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my many failures and set backs. If it wasn’t for them I probably wouldn’t be where I am today continuing to chase my dreams and leave my mark on the world.
