We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Hoffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My parents taught me from an early age that if you don’t ask, you don’t get. That’s pretty much been my philosophy in life and has enabled me to succeed in my business and even personally. As an independent creative thinker I came up with the idea of crazy over-the-top WOW experiences and started pitching companies on some of the concepts I curated. Before long I became a lead purveyor for brands like MasterCard which ultimately helped me launch my company. I also pursued relationships with royalty so that I can also offer experiences with them. Even when something sounds farfetched, if the numbers and ideas are solid then there’s no reason why something can’t become reality.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My travel and event agency is focused on luxury travel programs, WOW experiences, and event planning for private wealth clients and corporations. I’m proud of all the ideas that have become reality. One of my childhood obsessions has been Cleopatra and finding her tomb which has never been found. When I found out that there was an archeologist who believes she has found the site where Cleopatra is buried, I was able to contact her and I pitched her my idea of creating a special journey for clients to participate in the archeological dig in Alexandria. I’m also excited to say I have other unique experiences that I have curated through my own contacts and preference. Building a business, finding clients, and making amazing ideas a reality are never easy. I am a tenacious A personality so it’s not in my DNA to give up, but rather persevere and research and talk to others in my industry who can enhance or guide me along the way. I’ve been lucky to have some media coverage and even an appearance on CNBC. I’m always learning and growing in my business. It never stops because there is so much unknown out there and everyone has dreams which I hope to fulfill.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Miami has many wonderful places. We’d start out at one of my favorite spots for shopping – the Design District- which has many luxury boutiques ranging from Tom Ford to Christian Louboutin. After, we’d have lunch or dinner at the cozy yet authentic Mandolin, a true Greek taverna where on any given day you might see a celebrity. On another day we might pop over to Soho House to soak in some rays and indulge in one of my favorite dishes there – their meatballs. Another beachy hangout I love is the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne. Their Cantina restaurant makes some of the best margaritas and their Dune bar offers some mean hamburgers. Other restaurant faves of mine include Zuma, Portosole, and for a night to be seen in the scene I recommend Casadonna, Queen, and Giselle. I always suggest a one or two night stay in the keys at Cheeca Lodge or Little Palm Island. It’s about an hour to hour and a half drive depending on traffic and on the way I always stop for smoothies at Robert is Here Fruit Stand. For my culture enthusiasts you can’t miss a beautiful stroll thru historic Vizcaya, a guilded mansion built at the start of the 20th century and there’s also the wonderful PAMM museum which hosts events and overlooks the bay.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to my late parents who always supported my dreams even when it looked impossible at certain moments. I would also need to thank my friends Dave and Kelly who allowed me to stay with them every time I needed to make a trip to pitch and share my dreams. I think the marketing leaders at MasterCard really believed in me and I have to thank Grammy artist Luis Fonsi who agreed to do my music bootcamp even though he didn’t know me.
