We had the good fortune of connecting with Troy Castellano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Troy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that you have to “jump” to find out what’s on the other side of the challenge you face. There will always be apprehension and insecurities but I have found when you take that leap of faith, whether you succeed or fail, you will surely grow from the experience. The best stuff is on the other side of the challenge!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a songwriter, artist and music producer. My music falls somewhere in between Keith Urban and Glen Campbell. I am definitely a one-of-a-kind music maker. I have been influenced by ’70s soft rock, ’80s “hair rock” and modern country. My music crosses all of those mixtures and fits mainly the new country genre. I am most proud of sticking with my dream and following my path. It’s not easy, but when you keep at something for long enough, there’s bound to be some great rewards, and my reward is to be able to make and play music every day of my life. With all the ways to be discouraged, it’s easy to give up. What helps me is looking at the world with the thought, every day is a second chance. If I’m blessed to wake up and breathe for another day, I’m blessed to try again!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, living in Nashville, the apparent answer is to take them downtown to lower Broadway where all the bombastic honky tonks are. However, I’ve been there and done that. So now, I tell my friends to go down there and have a good time. Let me know when you’ve had enough of the bar scene, and then I take them to some of the amazing parks and waterfall trails Tennessee has to offer. I also like to take them to other historical music areas like Muscle Shoals. Alabama!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shout-out to my music fans. They have been so supportive of my music career over this past year. It’s inspiring and incredible to feel the support for what I love to do.
