We had the good fortune of connecting with The Feetles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Buckle your seatbelts and hold on, this one is a doozy… One fateful day, three doofuses were hanging out. Their names were Harry, Levi, and Sterling. Basically out of no where, Harry says, “Hey, did you guys know that Ringo Starr has feet pictures on the internet?” Sterling and Levi were aghast, and did not believe him. Harry proved it by opening the famous drummer’s Instagram, and lo and behold, Ringo’s feet were there. Then they did the most logical possible thing in response to this: Started a band and named it The Feetles.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Oh, we’re different from others alright. How many bands have you seen who use a foot as a logo? How many bands’ most popular songs are about pasta and large evil monsters chasing them? We’ve gotten plenty of weird looks, and virtually no one takes us seriously- which is good. We are not serious. We started purely as a joke, and people laughed and enjoyed it enough that we decided to keep going. In the beginning, we went into every show assuming that it would be our last one as The Feetles, thinking people would get tired of the joke and we would just move on. Not only has that not happened, but we have been more and more successful as time has gone on. Our music has thousands of streams, we’ve sold nearly one hundred CDs, and our last few shows have absolutely packed the venue! I suppose that a good lesson is that if you enjoy doing something, just keep doing it. Our version of creativity is singing silly songs and having a good time, so we do it. Some people don’t like us, but honesty who cares? At the end of the day, we are happy, our fans are happy, and there is no point in changing your art if you are happy with it. As for the last question, we want the world to know that we are the best band ever, just ask anyone (preferably anyone in the band).

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
THE OBELISK. The geographic center of Tennessee is easily the most beautiful thing that we have ever seen. Afterwards, we’d definitely check out every location of Great Escape, home of all of your music, comic, gaming, and general collecting needs (can Great Escape please pay us to advertise for them????). Seriously though, we all love that place. We’d also go to Century 21 here in Murfreesboro, which is also awesome. We’d eat at Toot’s every night they were here, except for one night when we’d go to Jefferson’s. Hopefully there’d be a show at The Laundry Room we could go to, or even a DRKMTTR show up in Nashville. Then there’s the Ryman, which is probably one of the coolest venues any of us have been to.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Well first of all, we have to thank Ringo Starr for posting pictures of his feet on Instagram. Aside from him, we also need to thank our good friends: Ashton Beatty, who booked our first couple of shows. Our world-renowned producer and recording engineer, Andrew Pauly (VP of Marketing). Jake Kroll, who made the pedals that help give us a signature sound. Stella Crooks, who took basically every good photo of us. Iris Walford, for their awesome cover art. Ryan King, for being the best drummer to have ever drummed. To our families and friends, most of whom have always supported us. And, of course, a big thanks to every person who has ever come out to one of our shows and laughed and had a good time!
