Meet Stelle Amor | Artist | Singer | Songwriter | Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stelle Amor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stelle, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
For me balance is always something to strive for to keep my body, mind, and relationships healthy. However the truth is if you really want to be successful you need to work A LOT! So finding balance can be really hard. One thing I’ve tried to improve upon over the years is how to kill two birds with one stone. For instance I can listen to an informative podcast, or make a call to a music connection while I’m getting my daily walk in. Another thing I love is to do writing work outside on nice days. That way I’m still in my grind but I’m getting that glorious vitamin D we all need so badly.
In full transparency this past year I’ve done less music work than ever, but unfortunately it was a time that life called for my attention more than work. My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer so I decided to move in and help take care of him. It’s definitely proving to be a challenge to catch up after being gone but I wouldn’t change a thing; if anything it reminded me how important it is to not only nurture your dreams but the people that you love for both make this life worth living.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Although love songs are my favorite, I feel it’s important to call out society’s problems and say what needs to be said. I am not afraid to write about heavy subjects. That being said, the last song I released they won’t even allow on TikTok because it talks about the Fentanyl crisis. Most artists would have probably changed the name to avoid being censored – Fentanyl Fight definitely doesn’t beat around the bush. I however can’t help but speak candidly- this is MAJOR issue that’s killing so many beautiful people and silence has its price.
I moved to Nashville chasing the dream when I was 20 with my old cat, a dumb phone, and a half working GPS. My starting management plugged me into Music Row and I was blessed to write and grow with the best. I did quickly learn that despite my country roots I was not meant for the scene. I was a hippy amongst cowboys and although we got along, my voice fit better with jazz chords and I started craving a new vibe. This is when I started a Soul/Rock band with some Berkley boys, and a Tripp Pop recording project with some LA producers. Juggling multiple projects taught me a lot about what it takes to make the magic happen and how hard it can be keeping the ball rolling. Creating has always come easy but learning business was painful for my trusting heart. I keep pushing forward for the love of it, but it’s always heartbreaking when band members or managers don’t work out. I think what I’ve learned after all the inconsistency from other people is that you have to make consistency in yourself… You can’t always rely on other people but you can always choose your attitude towards a situation and how hard you work. I know I plan to keep making this life beyond beautiful regardless of its challenges.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Nashville has so many amazing things happening which makes this question is easy and hard all at the same time. This is another one I could go on for days but below is a general outline of a good week out.
Sunday –
Broadway Day ~ everyone has to see Broadway even if it’s short and sweet There’s nothing like the echo of all the Honky Tonk music and the intensity of a rowdy crowd.
Music starts early and you can bounce around the strip until 3am. It’s overflowing with possibilities, but you can bet we’ll at least get a good view of the river from ACME’s rooftop, take a tour of Nudie’s Honky Tonk where Elvis’s million dollar suit just hangs on the wall, and and you can try Nashville’s famous hot chicken!
Definitely include a walk on the Pedestrian bridge to get the ultimate view of the city.
Monday –
Probably need a late start after all the action Sunday so maybe ease into the day with a quick greasy delicious breakfast burrito at Tower Deli in East Nashville
Then time for tea, shopping, and a Monday-night show at Mirror Mirror in Donelson.
Then it’s off to 5 Spot for MoTown Monday to get down with some James Brown at one of my favorite dive bars.
Then the best way to end the night in East Nashville is with a slice of some 5 Points Pizza.
Tuesday-
Spend the day hiking around Percy Warner
Two Ten Jack for dinner
Then walk to Jennies for ice cream
Wednesday-
Picnic at Centennial Park (check out the Parthenon)
Watch sunset at Love Circle
Dinner at Lockeland Table
Drinks at Rosemary & Beauty Queen Bar
Thursday-
Five Daughter Bakery donuts for breakfast
Walk along the river at Shelby Park
Check out Fannys House of Music in 5 points and grab a drink at Red Door
Dinner and show at Sambuca
Then keep it Jazzy and head to
Rudy’s Jazz Club for the night
Friday-
Brunch at Biscuit Love
Check out shops in Gulch area – walk music row
Skulls Rainbow Room for dinner and Burlesque show
Saturday-
Lunch at 5 points Cantina
Check out all the shops on Fatherland Street
Otaku Ramen for dinner
Show at the Ryman(best music venue ever)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Another big shout out goes to my soul sister Kris Bradley. She and I started writing songs together almost 10 years ago and eventually started the music group SideTripp. She then helped get a placement for our song Maze in the ABC show Grownish. She has also created an online school, Produce Like A Boss, where she teaches artists how to produce and record their music. I have gained so much knowledge from taking her courses from “Voice Memo 2 Demo” and “Beat Making for Songwriters” I can proudly say now I can record and produce my own songs, and my first self-produced single Dandelion Season that will be out May 4th, 2024
Speaking of Dandelion Season – I have to give a major shout out to Tony Zavitson for adding his songwriting and vocal flare to the song! Also the London legend Ian Barter (Amy Winehouse, Dermot Kennedy, Paloma Faith) for giving it an amazing mix. Both of these beings have done so much not only for this song but for my career and I’m honored they’re a part of the musical journey.
Making music is a huge team effort, so I could go on for days with people who make my dream come true everyday. You all know who you are and thank you so much for all the support.
