We had the good fortune of connecting with Rick Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rick, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Unfortunately, most business owners outside the Digital Marketing and Graphic Design Industry do not realize that once you have a website built you cannot let it just sit there.

Website maintenance plays a big role in website security and consumer engagement. For example, if you have a WordPress website and you have plugins that need to be updated you are taking a big risk of getting hacked if those plugins are not updated right away!

Hackers prowl on and anxiously wait for outdated plugins because it gives them a backdoor into your website.
 

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
First and foremost we ask that all Glory Be To God! It is because and only because of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that Adept Motions has grown to where it is today… All Glory Truly Be To God!!!

My wife and I decided to start Adept Motions a little over 6 years ago this upcoming February. We were both working in the restaurant industry as servers and bartenders. While we did enjoy our work as well as meeting new people every day, we also knew that we could not work in the industry forever.

We spoke about what we could do to provide ourselves with a solid and profitable future. With technology advancing every single day and people spending more and more time online we decided that starting a digital marketing company could possibly be the best opportunity for us. The only problem was neither of us had any experience in the digital marketing world. However, we decided to take a leap of faith and used our entire savings to start Adept Motions.

We were speaking to my parents one day Rick and Darlene Moore and told them what we had decided to do. They loved the idea and said they believed in us with all their heart and soul. They even suggested that we move back to my hometown Saltville, VA from Myrtle Beach, SC, where we were currently living, and live with them so that we could use all our financial resources to work on building up the company. So we took them up on their most generous offer and this is when our journey truly began.

Keep in mind, as I mentioned earlier, neither of us had any experience in the digital marketing world so we had to learn everything from scratch. My wife Kay was fortunately blessed with the talent of being able to create graphic designs and the ability to edit videos along with the understanding of how all the tools we needed worked in order to be successful.

So she concentrated her time on becoming a better video editor as well as cleaning up photos to provide clear and high-quality pictures. However, my tasks were much more complicated.

In order to be successful, I knew that I had to learn how to perform successful SEO Services, Website Design & Maintenance Services, and Social Media Management as well as learn how search engines truly work.

I had absolutely no experience in any of these fields and had no clue what I was going to do but knew I had to do something because we had spent our entire life savings on starting this journey. However, I knew the good Lord had blessed us with this opportunity for a reason and I was not going to give up on it.

This is when I did the only thing I knew to do, I got on my knees and started praying and gave it all to the Lord. I asked him to grant me the Wisdom, Knowledge, and Guidance that I needed to build this company up so that I could provide a comfortable life for my wife as well as help take care of those who are less fortunate.

Let me tell you, the Lord did not disappoint nor let me down!

Every single day I spent countless hours on my laptop learning the tools I needed to learn in order to be successful. The crazy thing is I honestly did not know what I was looking for because I had no knowledge of the digital marketing industry, but I did not need to know.

My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would send me emails, social media posts, and even ad pop-ups every single day containing the information I needed to learn in order to achieve success. All I truly had to do was open the door up the good Lord had provided me then simply read and study the information inside.

After months and months of studying and learning how everything worked, I still needed to implement the things I learned properly in order to be successful. I am not going to lie, I was terrified!

I was afraid that I would not do a good job once we landed our first client. In fact, I was terrified that I would mess something up and cost any client that we landed several thousand dollars in profit because I did not implement the proper digital marketing strategies.

Once again, I came back to the Lord and asked Him to guide my mind and hands to implement the wisdom and knowledge he had blessed me with properly… and he did just that!

Our very first client was a builder glass company based in Wilmington, NC. The owner was not looking for a long-term partnership. Instead, he was looking for someone to increase his company’s online presence as well as rank them on the 1st page of Google so that he could increase the company’s value. He wanted to do this so that he could sell the company off and make a nice profit.

Well, once again, God did not let us down. He continued to bless me with the wisdom and knowledge I needed as well as guided my mind and hands to perform the tasks necessary to provide our very first client with the results he was looking for. In fact, within less than a year we had built up the value of the builder glass company to where the owner was ready to sell. He did just that, he was able to sell the company and make a very nice profit due to the work we had performed for him.

Let me tell you, the Lord’s blessings did not stop from there. Next, we landed an HVAC client out of Wilmington, NC, and within less than a year had that company bringing in more customers than they could handle. They were even receiving 15-20 commercial HVAC opportunities each week. Next, came a car dealership client out of Columbia, SC who we successfully helped. Then a professional Organizing Company, WOW Organizing Services based out of Roanoke, VA.

The owner of WOW Organizing was about to give up on her dream because she had been done wrong by so many digital marketing companies. She had been spending tons of money on several different companies and never saw the guaranteed results each company had promised her.

Well, that all changed once the Lord brought us into each other’s lives. In fact, within 6 months she was the busiest she had ever been since she had started the company. As a matter of fact, she was not only dominating the Roanoke, VA area. She was and still is to this day receiving calls for her services from across the entire United States due to her online rankings and the results we have produced for her.

Now, I cannot leave out one of our biggest and most successful clients Mamma Mia Italian Restaurant located in Abingdon, VA. This is our most successful story yet. When we partnered up with Mamma Mia they had absolutely nothing in the works as far as digital marketing. No website, no social media accounts, absolutely nothing. So we changed all of that for them.

Not only do they now have an amazing-looking website and close to 3,000 Facebook followers. They are now known by people who never knew they existed and even as one of the best restaurants in the VA/TN Tri-cities area.

My shoutout goes to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If it was not for him I would not be here in this interview today. I had to self-teach myself everything I know about my industry. It was the Lord who guided me to learn all the things I needed to know as well as picked me up after each of my failures and gave me the strength to push on!
