We had the good fortune of connecting with Misha Fair and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Misha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
As an emerging country artist, taking risks has been a crucial part of my journey, After years of traveling from Atlanta to Nashville, I took a leap, moving from my hometown to further my music career. In many ways it feels as though I left behind the familiar and stepped into the unknown, which was both thrilling and daunting. Taking big risks for what I love has meant facing the challenges of building new connections, navigating the competitive music industry, and establishing a unique presence in a larger market that breathes country music. It’s both scary and exhilirating at the same time to I know that embracing these risks can lead to new opportunities and growth as an artist. Because of my willingness to take risks, I am gaining exposure, learning from diverse experiences, and pushing my creative boundaries. The path is definitely full of uncertainty, but I cling to my motto, “do it scared!”, and trust the process to propel my dreams forward.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an alt-country /Americana artist who blends traditional country roots with contemporary influences. My team and I work hard to create a fresh, yet timeless musical experience for listeners. While I listen to and enjoy many styles of music, I absolutely love Americana and Country music to my core. What sets me apart from other artists is my deeply personal songwriting and storytelling. I’ve been singing and writing for myself and others since I was very young and my hope is that some part of the lyric or melody resonate with listeners on an emotional level.

My family is full of professional musicians and music artists but I was always encouraged to get out there and work hard to forge a career on my own. So, I started performing in local venues to making a name for myself, while also working as an artist developer and vocal coach with other artists. I faced so many challenges, from navigating industry changes, managing budget deficits, overcoming image and brand identity challenges, engaging in artistic and personal development and so much more.

Through it all, I learned the importance of authenticity, the value of a supportive team, and the power of connecting with an audience. I want the world to know that my music is a reflection of my experiences and emotions, and my brand is built on honesty, dedication, a deep love for the craft and commitment to my art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many things to do in Nashville…where do I start?! I would probably start Day 1 with brunch at Pinewood Social. Then we’d check out Tootsies Orchid Lounge and have a good time checking out the scene down Broadway. I absolutely LOVE the fish and chips at The Pub.

On Day 2, we’d check out Nashville’s music scene at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Ryman, then savor Southern cuisine at Husk before catching a Grand Ole Opry show.

Day 3, we might head over to LayerCake for Brunch, then go to the Frist Art Museum then hop over to the Gibson Museum (since its right across the street) and explore more of the Gulch.

Somewhere between day 4 and 5 I’d like to have coffee at Barista Parlor in East Nashville, eat some pink deviled eggs at Jane’s Hideaway and incredible BBQ at Edley’s, and maybe catch some bluegrass at the Station Inn.

Day 6 I’d like to visit the Johnny Cash Museum and see live music at The Basement East or the Opry and I would recommend dinner at The Catbird Seat and a little cocktail and ambiance combo at Tiger Bar.

Day 7 we have to get brunch at Biscuit Love then maybe take a walk through Vanderbilt University, Later we could have dinner at Kayne Prime with drinks at The Fox Bar & Cocktail Club.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to take a moment to give a huge thank you to my manager Myranda Pugh, with Main Scale Production for believing in me and guiding me through my musical journey as an independent artist. She is an incredible part of my team and her trust, support, dedication and expertise have been invaluable in navigating my career.
