We had the good fortune of connecting with Michaela Romano-Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michaela, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my business was sharing what I love while simultaneously helping businesses, especially small businesses. I wanted to formally document and share my favorite restaurants and travel recommendations which naturally led to helping businesses from social media marketing efforts.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Food, Travel & Lifestyle Blogger, Influencer & Content Creator. I specialize in personal recommendations & favorites as well as everyday life. I got to where I am simply by posting consistently but by also implementing social media strategies that I have learned previously from the corporate side of social media marketing. I want the world to know that all of my recommendations are personal & authentic. I also want the world to know that I love sharing my personal life because I love transparency and would love to change the perception of social media – I love making people laugh , smile and/or nod about what I post because (to me) that means it is resonating with others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots in Boston are: The North End, Back Bay and Seaport. I would recommend staying at either The Boston Omni Hotel or Marriott Long Wharf or The Verb Hotel, going out to dinner in The North End (spoiler alert: all of those restaurants are excellent) and going out to brunch in Seaport or Back Bay – either Serafina, Terra or Woods Hill Pier 4. I would recommend going to a Red Sox game, walking around the city to see historical sights, taking a boat tour (either Sunset Sail, Electric Boats Boston and/or Duck Boats), taking a Swan Boat ride, visiting a museum and/or visiting Harpoon Brewery and/or Sam Adams.
