We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendra Chantelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendra, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Oooh this is a tough one to narrow down because parenting truly feels like the most impactful ‘work’ of life I will ever have. I think healing as many of my wounds as possible before becoming a mom was definitely impactful and I think putting my career… not on pause… but on lesser priority for the years they’ve been young has been really important and special for us. I will always have goals, wishes, opportunities but I will not always have these little girls, the youngest they’re ever going to be. My priorities have never been more clear!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a multi passionate by nature. I’ve always had a few pots on the stove at a time so I work as a holistic vocalist coach, singer, songwriter, vocal arranger & producer, holistic skincare & wellness advocate and do some affiliate marketing when I truly align with a product or company.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am definitely that friend that wants to take you on a walk (or 3) so I’m going to insist we go to Radnor Lake- maybe let’s swing by True Food Kitchen before or after to get some of my favorite food. I think everyone needs to make a point of stopping in Southern Crystal Co in Old Hickory- you can get some crystals, jewelry, a cute hat, local tea and honey and whatever else calls your name. An afternoon in downtown Franklin always feels amazing- local shops & restaurants and it’s all walkable and adorable. If we are looking for live music I always want to land somewhere like Rudy’s Jazz Room- it’s off the beaten path, small and magical. I could say the same about the Basement (OG on 8th, of course).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to shout out my amazing friends Maureen Murphy & Kristen Rogers. Not only are they both absolute vocal ICONS but they’re genuine friends who have reminded me of my strengths in seasons of doubt, accepted my weaknesses and continually spoken my name in rooms full of opportunity. I am so thankful to even know women/vocal coaches/singers of their caliber and the fact that I consider them dear friends is such a gift.
