We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaimee Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaimee, what principle do you value most?
Accountability has been a core value for my entire life and continues to strengthen as I grow and develop. When a person has or displays accountability in their life it shows to me humility. It’s the ability to show up when you promise, be forth coming with your errors, and creates a stability within relationships as the other party knows what to expect. Being accountable does not mean you never faulter but does mean that you bring it to light and work to resolve the issue or accept responsibility for the outcome.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My industry is all about protection and to protect someone properly they have to be educated to make the best decision for their family and legacy. I am proud of myself and my office for always going above for our clients to make sure they are educated on how to best protect their families through insurance products. Most people do not understand the importance of insurance and what is covered and is not covered. It’s my job to make sure that my clients understand in easy terms, realize it is a contract with the provider, and choose what will cover what they work so hard to provide for their families every day. This is what I feel sets my office apart because it is done with each client.

The journey is not easy and being a small business owner has many challenges that have to be overcome on a daily basis. It’s a mental game to make sure in light of all the hurdles thrown my way that I keep a positive outlook and realize that regardless of the current situation I have opportunities with each one that will bring about a lesson or blessing. The biggest thing I have learned is that when I am feeling challenged it is best to get out of my own head and help someone else in need. That is why I do my best to volunteer in various organizations, to help out individuals, or even if it is making something sweet for a neighbor in need. There are many things I do not have control over and so many things that may be unfair… BUT … I have the ability to choose! When I say CHOOSE, you are the only one who can choose to take the high road, choose to not allow it to hold space in your mind, or choose to see where the other party is coming from and why they feel the way they do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had an out-of-town friend visiting and had one full week to show them around here is a list of musts for my area:

Tennessee Titans game
Predators Game
Walk down Broadway to visit all the honky tonk bars (the old ones that were here in Nashville’s early years)
We have amazing parks so definitely a hike at Radnor Lake to see all the beautiful wildlife
Fall creek falls
A show at the Ryman
The Jack Daniels Distillary in Lynchburg TN and walk around that tiny town.
Franklin TN downtown for a progressive dinner – so fun!
Kimbros’ as its a staple in Franklin and still has the ole feel.
And the food – Must visit Loveless Cafe, The Cupcake collection, Etch, Martin’s BBQ

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Success is not achieved alone but with the help of others who are your cheerleaders, supporters, mentors, and see your vision as well. For me the shoutout goes to many people, books, YouTube videos, employees, and my spouse who all at one point or another were the encourager, supporter, or mentor for me. I have been fortunate to have a husband who selflessly gives of himself to our family so that I can focus on my business. From being my encourager when I feel overwhelmed, to being my supporter by making sure our home and children are cared for daily when I am working to brand my business. Without the people around me, where I am today could not be possible. My clients who trust in me and continue to do business with me, without them and my staff this would not be possible. Its hard for me to shout out just one person when so many along the way helped and continue to help me get to where I am today and for that I am forever grateful!
