We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacquline O’Brien and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacquline, how do you think about risk?
In the world of photography, the job can be highly demanding, but also a risky business. On the nature of the subject in particular, location and conditions, photographers health and safety are always at risk to catch the perfect shot. That’s exactly why business insurance for photographers exists; to mitigate many of the potential risks,

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
“My photographs/style is an extension of how I see,” she explains. “I didn’t decide to have a certain style but rather was drawn to some inner vision that I could not put words to. As my career and work evolved, I found myself drawn to making images that were emotive. I am still pulled to capturing images that feel intimate and alluring. I hope people stop and feel my work, and perhaps see a bit of themselves there too.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Napa Valley is rich with fabulous food, scenery, and of course, wine! Located just next to the Napa River, downtown Napa is home to a number of tasting rooms, art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants. Here, everything is within walking distance, so it’s easy to jump from one tasting room to the next, or just stroll along the riverfront.

I love staying at the four seasons resort in Napa valley. When you book 2 nights they give you a third night for free. At this five star resort you can soak in magnificent views of Napa Valley from this amazing resort.

With each trip visiting St. Helena in Napa, you’ll see some of the area’s most charming vineyards, and – you guessed it – sample some more delicious food.
Bouchon Bakery – located right next to the Bouchon restaurant itself and home to delicious pastries and also caffeine (the breakfast of champions).
Frog’s leap winery is a family owned winery, and one of the most adorable wineries I’ve ever visited.

The best time to visit would be summer so you can soak up some sweet sunny days, lazy poolside afternoons, and so much food and wine I barely fit into my jeans on the way home. In other words: a perfect trip.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to a master mind, helpful, and life transforming Marrisa Morrison. She is a mom, wife, and world-renowned wedding photographer. If it weren’t for her insights into the world of photography I would have never taken the leap.
