Meet EMMI IIDA | Musician, Artist, Holistic Interior Architect

We had the good fortune of connecting with EMMI IIDA and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi EMMI IIDA, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“WHY NOT?” has been my guiding light to get rid of the limits I’ve set for myself… So questioning your old beliefs and opening up to the possibilities is a way to find that courage to do what you’re feeling called to do in life. I see it in a way that If someone can do it, it’s possible for me too.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always been curious and creative, or as long as I can remember… I’ve been singing and making tiny songs since I was a kid, but somehow life and society quieted my voice for over a decade and I found that gift again about four years ago when I opened up to the possibility. For the past decade I was studying interior architecture, the energy flow of spaces, feng shui, sound healing and spiritual life coaching, diving deeper into my personal healing and sharing my inner worlds in the form of abstract art, in exhibitions around the world.
What opened me up more for the world of spirituality and oneness was losing my baby girl four years ago when I was 23 weeks pregnant. That tragedy led me to try different modalities of energy healing and how powerful sound and different frequencies can be when used correctly.
I got divorced last year and moved back with my two sons to the countryside of Southern Finland where I’m from, feels good to have roots and a place for grounding for them. Before that I had spent a decade in the USA, living in Nashville for the past four years and in Minneapolis before that.
It takes so much courage to listen to your heart, to find your voice, and to take aligned action, but I promise you it all will be worth it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ahh I’d take them to a tea ceremony at my friend Sarah’s in her stunning garden, then having an energy healing session with Hellen and a weekend trip to the Smoky Mountains. Or Soho House for some sunny pool time and a sound bath in their auditorium…
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have had such a great team around me for the latest project, my debut album THE EYE. The album is co-written and produced by the incredibly talented, Nashville based, British songwriter-producer Jessica Sharman and mixed & mastered by the Grammy-winning producer, singer & songwriter Femke Weidema. I also had the honour to work with two brilliant artists featuring for the album, Peachkit and Bryce Green.
