We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Eggleston and Jasmine Alvarado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beth and Jasmine, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
As owners of Two Spicy Mamas, our professional end goal is to turn our tiny seasoning blend empire into a full-time endeavor. Right now, it’s all about sharing unique flavors and bringing joy to people’s kitchens. In the long run, Beth and I dream of opening a charming brick-and-mortar shop where customers can explore our spices and even see them being made. We’re passionate about building a community around our love for cooking and flavor, and that’s the dream we’re chasing!

What should our readers know about your business?
Beth and I kicked off our venture in October 2023, and since then, our gourmet seasoning blends have been jazzing up kitchens across the U.S. We’ve got 7 unique blends that’ve led to nearly 2000 sales. Our happy place? Connecting with customers face-to-face at pop-up events. Our flavors? They’re a fusion of our cultural backgrounds with a spicy twist that’s as bold as we are. Winning the 2024 Music City Hot Chicken amateur competition was a hot moment for us—literally. Being featured on TV was the icing on the cake, proving all our sweat and spice paid off.
But let’s be real, our journey hasn’t been a fairy tale. We’ve had some hurdles—like when the people we expected to cheer us on didn’t, suppliers vanished into thin air, suppliers not supplying, and the rare case of feedback that felt like a smack in the face with a wet towel. Nonetheless, it’s been a bumpy thrill ride that taught us invaluable lessons. We’ve become pros at playing to each other’s strengths and blocking out the noise. Our go-to strategy? Have a plan B, C, and maybe even D, while praying like saints (though sometimes swearing like sailors). Balance, right?
Through girl talk, a little wine, and a whole lot of determination, we’ve built a brand that’s more than just about spices—it’s about empowering other women like us. We want the world to know that Two Spicy Mamas is here to spice up not just your meals but also inspire women to chase their dreams. We see you, we support you, because your journey is our journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, first we have a gourmet seasoning business. So:

Day 1: Will be filled with lots of laughter and talking. We would stay the first day at home, having conversation, cocktails, and a cooking session using Two Spicy Mamas Gourmet Seasoning Blends.

Day 2: We would check into the Conrad Nashville by Hilton. They have extremely nice rooms and a very personable staff. We would have breakfast that day at Blue Aster for French Toast and chicken apple sausage. We would then roam around Nashville. We would visit Broadway, the Parthenon, and 12 South. For dinner, we would have a nice, blackened shrimp Caesar Salad with fried capers and croutons.

Day 3: We would forego breakfast for a hearty home cooked lunch from Silver Sands Cafe. Since we are in the area, we will go to the Nashville Farmers Market on Rosa Parks Blvd and go shopping in the Gulch. After shopping, we will go and get a sweet potato cupcake and chocolate cupcake from the Cup Cake Collection. Later, there would be an early dinner of chicken fried rice, shrimp pad thai, and curry at Deg Thai. That night we would go enjoy some live music at the Analog inside the Hutton Hotel.

Day 4: We would grab breakfast on the go, because we have things to do. We would start the day with a glass blowing class with Michael Allison in Joelton, TN (a short ride from the city). After our class we would head back to the city and stop by Gabby’s Burgers and Fries for a late lunch. We would leave there and go to axe throwing at one of Nashville’s many axe throwing facilities. We have to get that competitive edge off of us. After axe throwing, we would go for a stroll through Cheekwood. That night we would stroll through the illumination lights at the Nashville Zoo.

Day 5: Starts with us sleeping in, because whew, are we tired from this week of activities. Today, we will order some lunch and have it delivered. Around 6:30 pm or so, we will head out to spend an evening at Plaza Mariachi. We will participate in salsa dancing classes and watch one of their amazing evening shows with fire dancers and acrobats. We will eat dinner at Tres Gauchos inside of Plaza Mariachi, probably some fire roasted steak, potatoes, and some of that awesome savory, flavorful chimichurri. We close Plaza Mariachi and head back to the hotel for my friend’s early morning flight.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Let’s give a big shoutout to Beth’s husband, Kevin, and Jasmine’s partner, Rush! Without Kevin’s muscle and patience, our journey would’ve encountered a whole lot more bumps along the road. His willingness to lend a hand and steady calmness have truly been a blessing. And then there’s Rush — his unique sales experience and boundless energy have been game-changing for us. Their eagerness to jump in and keep things moving has pushed our progress beyond what we could’ve achieved on our own. So, here’s to Kevin and Rush, the unsung heroes who have tirelessly supported and empowered us to reach new heights!
