We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashshahid Muhammad and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashshahid, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The success behind my brand is that I love to do it. Once I found my true identity as an artist, my passion for it opened many doors for me. Connecting with people with the same drive and motivation helped me grow. Being humble by adding more education to my brand also adds more success. Learning more to take your brand to the next level is never too late.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an artist, I come to learn that every artist has their own style. Some may be influenced by others more as they mimic them. As for me, what separates my style of art is my creation from my experiences of life. Creating art from my own mind is new art to the world. In my proud moments of art, I wake up every day in a creative state of mind. Being able to do what I love to do every day is a blessing. How did I get to where I am today, I surrounded myself with people who love doing what I do. Being successful is never easy, it’s a lot of hard work, One of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is I most value my art if no one else does. I want the world to know me through my art and books. If they study my art and books they will learn more about my spirit.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As an artist, my favorite place is always an art museum. In New York City the art world is phenomenal. As for food and drink New York City has the best restaurants to go to. Manhattan is my favorite spot to go for fun though. There it is always live and exciting. People from all over the world are crossing each other’s paths.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Creator is my first shoutout to my success. Having faith and courage to make my dreams come true no words can explain. Watching my mother be the best example of practicing faith and courage gave me a blueprint. I watched my mother for years go back to school and make her dreams come true. Another amazing person in my life was my favorite teacher Kenjila Hammonds the best teacher in the world. She taught me how to take tests and pass them. My uncle Charles Blackmon taught me how to draw. On my journey of life many people, groups, organizations, and books have played a major role in my life, thanks to them all.
