Meet Andy Elliott / Liam Nash | Founders of the Man to Man Podcast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andy Elliott / Liam Nash and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andy Elliott / Liam Nash, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Our success comes from a mix of things that helped us grow. Like any startup, we had to build a strong foundation and figure out who we were and wanted to be. We started as a basketball podcast all about the NBA in 2019, then worked out who our audience was and how to reach them. This obviously meant being active on social media, posting regularly, sticking to a schedule, and picking guests who align with our vision.
Staying consistent was key. Nine months later, DASH Radio in Los Angeles – located on Hollywood Blvd – recruited us to their radio station. Joining them boosted our listeners from 100 to 100,000 weekly and over 3 million monthly. We were able to record live episodes in their studios on Hollywood Boulevard, where people passing by could see us.
Being on DASH gave us the credibility to interview celebrities and professional athletes. And, as time went on we adapted to trends on social media, hired interns, improved our production quality, and invited even more exciting guests on the pod. It opened doors to partnerships, brand collaborations, and more guests we want to have on the show.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Continuing to be better and build a bigger portfolio of guests and brand partnerships. Since our inception, we’ve grown and transitioned into more of a lifestyle and entertainment podcast, featuring guests like UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal, social media stars Loren Gray and Tayler Holder, hip hop artist Riff Raff, Bryce Vine, and others. People often ask us how we get these guests. It’s because of our consistency and growing reputation. Featuring well known guests on our podcast only gives us more credibility as a show, despite having a presence on DASH Radio. Plus, we’ve got a great team that assists with securing guests and brand partnerships.
What makes us different, especially at our age, is that few others have kept a podcast going as long as we have. We’ve had our ups and downs, and sometimes it didn’t seem worth it to keep going because of budget and profits, but after four years, we’re now starting to see revenue come in and big-name sponsors wanting to work with us.
Our journey has involved owning good equipment, planning ahead for guests, using social media well, building a supportive team, and dealing with ups and downs. It’s been tough, but that’s what makes it worth it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For anyone new to Nashville, you’ve got to experience Broadway, known as the “Honky Tonk Highway.” It’s lively, with bars playing live music, great food, and plenty of entertainment.
Hattie B’s is a favorite for hot chicken, while Martin’s BBQ or Bringle’s Smoking Oasis serve fantastic barbecue. And if you’re into sushi, O-Ku in Germantown is top-notch.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to thank our amazing team, past and present, who’ve all played a big part in our journey. Special thanks to Griffin Dobson, JP Terrell, and McKenna Gribbon – who is still with us. Now, our team is about five people who are helping us out with production, social media, and outreach which has been great.
And a huge thanks to everyone who’s supported us over the years. Whether you’ve bought our merch, shared our podcast, or simply given us a shoutout, your support means everything to us. Thank you.
