We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Sweeney-Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Instead of selling just real estate like every other realtor, I sell happiness, wealth building, and the lifestyle. I pride myself on being authentic, genuine, and a no bull shit type. I let that shine through while creating my brand. I work hard to educate my clients, I am a content creator not just a realtor. My audience enjoys watching and learning from my videos about selling a home if it is in a trust to here’s a great new restaurant just opened up in Nashville TN. Instead of chasing people, sales, and money, I attract it. I don’t cold call- people seek me out and call me, exactly the way I have designed it. Helping people, building connections, and creating relationships is what it’s all about for me, while not portraying a perfect image.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m proud to be still standing strong, over 85% of realtors fail in their 1st year in business. I’m going on my 4th year now. I am all about people- helping them achieve what they want and need- in return I end up getting my goals accomplished also. I’m excited to announce that I am a published author- “Thrive as a New Realtor” which has been a labor of love but I want to share my knowledge with others- I really do want to help people and I do. I have started a video school for business owners wanting to make videos for their business, that has been so fun and rewarding. We meet once a month in person, and I also stream it on ZOOM for all of my friends who live out of town. No, building a real estate business is not easy- it is extremely difficult. I overcame the challenges by stepping out of the box and didn’t just say what I thought others wanted to hear- I say what I want to say. I never give up. I see it like this, if I win-great, if I lost- I learned- so really there is no losing then. It’s all about mindset if you have that positive mindset down pat then you can achieve anything. Surrounding yourself with the right people is key, I have been building my business but like most people will take anyone if they need help but I am particular with who works with me, the most important quality for me is a must-requirement a positive mindset. I won’t hire negative people or choose to work with them. I don’t just want to sell real estate- I want to help make change and a difference in this world, with one positive act at a time.
Like Steve Harvey says-
“So as long as I wake up, I just look for it, I say okay God what is it today? It might be a challenge, it might be a test or it might be the WIN. But either way, I’m gonna wake up tomorrow, and if I wake up, that’s a good sign that he ain’t threw with me yet.”

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First if it wasn’t for the good Lord- nothing is possible. I want to thank my sweet mom Lee Ann Mills, she is always a great mentor and a positive role model- she is the best I love you so much mom. I know I always have her support and advise if I need it. I must give my mentor Michelle Atkinson a major shoutout, she has been an incredible mentor and teacher for me in my real estate business. She has taught me, it truly is all about helping others- first and foremost. She taught me how to always add value- help even if they were selling it themselves. A group I want to thank is The Woman’s Club in Murfreesboro- they have welcomed me with open arms. This club has amazingly talented women who have been following a legacy and tradition for over 106 years and counting. I’m thrilled to get to be a part of it. I am so thankful for my friend, Denise Carlton who took me under her wing, and has been showing me the ropes. I was honored when they asked me to be their activities chair, house interior designer, and publicity co-chair. Valerie DeHoff is our current president- she is simply wonderful- she has a beautiful giving heart and a fun personality. Valerie has been doing a fantastic job leading us, it really is a big job. So we do thank you so much Valerie for everything you do for us and our community. The Woman’s Club of Murfreesboro helps our community by donating scholarships for college, literacy- donating books, assisting children in need, and helping the homeless. I look up to these ladies in our club and I am so grateful to learn from all of their wisdom and experience.
