We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Gill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I don’t feel there is ever really a balance, but seeking to harmoniously blend my work and life is the ultimate goal. For years I worked for someone else where hours were generally set and you could accrue paid time off. However, as a business owner, I’ve had to approach my work life blend a little differently. Technically, you don’t work, you don’t get paid, so being disciplined in how I set my schedule and allow for breaks is incredibly important. And it’s important to understand that one week may not look like the next. Life happens and one week you may have numerous projects confirmed while the following week may be a bit slower. For me, the key is to schedule everything out, this includes time off and even adding a lunch break. This provides me with the space to rest and reset so that I can jump back into my work refreshed.

What should our readers know about your business?

I operate a coaching practice with a specific focus on career transitions, entrepreneurship and personal development. Hope forms the foundation of my approach, followed by resources, guidance, and support for those on their professional journeys.

I’ve had the privilege of working with passionate and dedicated individuals at various stages. Some are seeking career advancement, others are drawn to the possibilities of entrepreneurship, and many desire a better work-life balance for overall well-being. Regardless of their specific goals, the common thread is a drive to create a more fulfilling professional experience.

My practice has evolved alongside my clients’ needs. Through each coaching experience, I’ve learned what truly empowers individuals, whether they’re navigating a career change, launching their own venture, or seeking a better work-life integration.  Similarly, when mentoring new coaches, I emphasize the importance of embracing change and growth within your business. This allows you to adapt to your clients’ needs and offer the most effective support.

The bottom line: Experiment, ask questions, learn from setbacks, and use those lessons to continually improve how you empower others to achieve their career, entrepreneurial, and work-life balance goals.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am grateful for the support of some incredible individuals who have helped me on my entrepreneurial journey. My incredibly supportive husband Jason and my amazing family and friends are what keep me motivated and encouraged. Owning your own business is not easy, but it’s incredibly possible with a strong community surrounding you.
