We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleksandra Chojnacka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aleksandra, is there something you believe many others might not?
One piece of conventional advice I challenge is the idea that health and wellness depend primarily on external factors, like supplements, gadgets, or even constant reliance on experts. While these can be invaluable (and critical) in times of crisis or when addressing complex health issues, they often reinforce the belief that the answers lie outside of us.

At Detox House, my mission is to help people reconnect with their bodies and rediscover the innate power we all have to regulate our nervous systems and find balance. Over the years, we’ve outsourced so much of our wellness, relying on others to tell us what’s good for us or how “healthy” we are. While guidance and expertise is so important, I believe that no one knows your body better than you do and that true health begins with tuning into ourselves—something practices like cold plunges, sauna sessions, and breathwork uniquely enable.

These modalities are powerful because they remind us of what we’re capable of: self-regulation, resilience, and growth. When we embrace that connection to our bodies, we reclaim agency over our well-being in a way that’s deeply personal and empowering. This approach may be unconventional, but it’s also timeless—a return to trusting ourselves as the foundation of health and wellness.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I truly believe that everything I’ve done has led me to where I am today. While my previous work may seem unrelated to running Detox House, the skills and experiences I’ve gained along the way are deeply tied to how I’m building this business now.

I spent 14 years in digital marketing, business development, and partnerships, working with influencers to help them turn their passions into thriving businesses. I’ve held roles at companies like Tory Burch, Yammer, Microsoft, and POPSUGAR, and I’ve earned a degree in Computer Science from Fordham University and an MBA in Strategic Marketing from the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU. These experiences taught me how to think strategically, connect with people, and bring big visions to life—skills I now channel into Detox House.

But alongside my professional journey was another equally important one: my personal path of self-optimization. I’ve always been deeply curious about how to squeeze the most out of life and show up for the things that excite me. This meant years of exploring, experimenting, and sometimes struggling to feel my best physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The journey wasn’t easy. There were countless moments of frustration—feeling stuck, giving up, and starting over again as I sought answers, clarity, and a career that truly lit my soul up. Those moments, however, taught me resilience, patience, and how to trust the process.

What excites me most about Detox House is that it’s a culmination of everything I’ve learned—professionally and personally. It’s not just a wellness studio; it’s a gateway to empowerment, designed to help people reconnect with their bodies and rediscover their own strength and resilience. My story isn’t just about finding answers for myself; it’s about creating a space where others can explore, heal, and thrive.

What I want the world to know is this: no matter how unrelated or challenging your experiences may seem, they’re shaping you in ways you can’t yet see. Trust the process. That’s exactly how I’ve built my life, my career, and Detox House.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have a whole itinerary!
I would start my morning by getting a matcha at Fast Times Coffee inside Buck Mason in 12 South (hanging out on the couch, people watching and sipping) followed by a hike at Radnor Lake. Connecting with nature is the best thing I can do for my mental health and clarity. Most people don’t realize how amazing and awe inspiring the nature around Nashville is.

Next would be brunch at Roze Cafe in East Nashville or their sister restaurant Roze Pony in Belle Meade.
I’d then go shopping around the Gulch and check out some live music at Listening Room.
I’d go to dinner at Iberian Pig and out for some cocktails at the speakeasy cocktail bar, Golden Sound.

The next day I’d go down to South Hall for a spa day and brunch.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So many people have inspired me along my journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for their influence. My coach Ann Smyth, the transformative work of Dr. Joe Dispenza and Dr. Sarno, Wim Hof’s teachings, Lacy Phillips’ perspective on life—the list goes on. Their work has profoundly shaped how I view health, the nervous system, and our ability to create change in our lives.

But I’d be remiss if I didn’t dedicate this answer to a very special person: my dear friend Dr. Jessica Waldron and intended business partner for Detox House, who passed in 2022 after a courageous health battle. She was a Stanford PhD in psychology, and her vision of integrating cognitive behavioral therapy and relationship coaching with somatic practices was truly ahead of its time. Her wisdom, curiosity, and relentless drive to uncover deeper truths continue to inspire me every day.

Her journey taught me so much—not just about the mind-body connection, but about life itself. She encouraged me to question everything, to seek out my own truth, and to share that truth with the world in a way that’s authentic and impactful. Detox House is as much a part of her legacy as it is mine, and I carry her light with me in everything I do.
