Hi Nguyen, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
One of my favorite quotes is, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” This quote reminds me that determination and hard work can help overcome any obstacle. It inspires me to keep going, even when things are difficult, and to believe in myself and my dreams.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Nail City is more than just a nail salon—it’s a welcoming space where clients can relax, connect, and feel cared for. What sets us apart is the genuine relationships we build with our clients and the attention to detail in every service we provide. I am most proud of the positive, supportive environment we’ve created, where people feel comfortable sharing their stories and leaving with a smile.

Getting to this point was not easy. As an immigrant, I faced language barriers and had to adapt to a new culture while learning how to run a business. There were moments of doubt and setbacks, but I overcame them by focusing on my passion for helping others and being open to learning from every experience. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that perseverance, kindness, and a willingness to listen are key to building a successful business and a loyal community. I want the world to know that Nail City is a place where everyone is welcome, and our goal is to make every client feel special and appreciated.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d want them to experience the best of Clarksville! Here’s what our week might look like:

Day 1: Start with brunch at a cozy local café, then explore downtown Clarksville’s shops and historic sites.
Day 2: Visit Dunbar Cave State Park for a nature walk and picnic, followed by dinner at a favorite family-owned restaurant.
Day 3: Treat ourselves to a relaxing spa day at Nail City, then check out the local art galleries and live music in the evening.
Day 4: Take a day trip to nearby Nashville for sightseeing, shopping, and great food.
Day 5: Enjoy a cooking class or food tour to sample the area’s diverse cuisine.
Day 6: Spend time at the riverfront park, maybe rent bikes or take a boat ride, then unwind with a movie night.
Day 7: Wrap up the week with a visit to a local farmers market and a farewell dinner with friends.

Clarksville has a wonderful mix of natural beauty, friendly people, and unique local businesses. I’d want my friend to experience the warmth and community spirit that make this area so special.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe so much of my journey to my family, who supported me through every challenge, especially when I first moved to the United States. Their encouragement gave me the strength to pursue my dreams, even when things felt overwhelming. I’m also grateful to my loyal clients at Nail City, who have trusted me and helped my business grow through their support and word-of-mouth recommendations. Finally, I want to recognize the mentors and fellow business owners in my community who offered advice, shared their experiences, and inspired me to keep going. My success is truly a reflection of the love, guidance, and encouragement I’ve received from so many wonderful people.
