Meet Esmee Kyles | Wedding & Branding Photographer and Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Esmee Kyles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Esmee, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve been creative since childhood. I think I was born with an overactive mind and my imagination ran wild. If I wasn’t being an “actress” in my parent’s livingroom for their friends, I was drawing pictures or writing stories. It didn’t matter if it was poetry, singing, painting, writing or acting… I was the “artsy” one in the family. And even though I took up work as an administrative professional for most of my adult life, I inserted my creativity in literally everything I did! So that creative outlet found it’s BIG voice when a camera came into my life back in 2012. I could express everything through a lens, and the final product was always going to be an expression of my passion and my mind. I think my mind is STILL overactive and my imagination STILL runs wild. I’m just grateful that photography encourages both of these things.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a multi-faceted creative, but my primary focus is on photography, specifically wedding and branding photography. I think being talented in multiple areas sets me apart, but what I’m most proud of is my style of photography and my photographer-client experience. Establishing relationships with my clients has helped me to connect with them beyond just being their photographer. I am telling their story. I get to know them, their families, their likes and interests, their lives… I appreciate that so many of these couples return to me to capture their milestones and new chapters in their lives. I apply these same principles and tactics to my branding clients. I want to showcase their brands and the story behind the brand. Lessons I’ve learned have been to always stay true to yourself, learn to say no and mean it, and to remain humble and not take things too personal. I’d love for the world to know that I am going to click with you from our first meeting and Incredibly Wee Photography is ready to be your photography choice for ALL your milestones!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Since I am based in Memphis, Tennessee – I would definitely introduce them to the food scene in Memphis! You have to have ribs from Cozy Corner, the wings at Good Fortune Co., some brisket at Bain BBQ, the dumplings and crispy chicken at Petals of a Peony, breakfast at Staks, pizza at Rock’n Dough, the steak and brussels sprouts at Porch & Parlor… the list goes on! If you are new to Memphis, check out Beale Street, Tom Lee Park, The Lookout at The Pyramid, Overton Square, and catch a sunset down by the river. The city is full of rich history and there are new and exciting things happening all the time!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this to my husband Rudy. My greatest supporter and the true definition of loyalty. He assisted me with every step of this journey whether I asked him to or not. He is still here, by my side. He listens to my stories, he allows me to vent, he steps in when things get difficult, he nurses my “wounds” when the weight of the job takes its toll, he hypes me up and takes that BTS content (sometimes better than me). I wouldn’t have made it this far without him. Thanks babe.
