What was your thought process behind starting your own business?

Starting a business is a commitment and requires dedication, resources and sacrifice. We asked some of the rising stars in our community how they thought through the idea of starting their own businesses.
I started the business of Songwriting after 30 years as a Tennessee State Park Ranger.
I consider it a hobby with business perks. Writing is a daily thing for me and I perform my songs biweekly at various venues in middle Tennessee and Festivals in other states.
