The path I’ve chosen is a difficult one without any real guidelines to follow for achieving your goals. The entertainment business has been full of jumping before I knew where I might land, never really feeling like I was ready but also feeling an overwhelming desire to share what I’d been creating as soon as soon as possible – whether that was a song I recorded or the children’s book I co-authored. I ask myself this all the time, but ultimately I always come back to, “well, I want to do it,” and that’s always enough for me. It gets so discouraging sometimes, but I have to remember that this is what I’ve always wanted to do, since I was so young. I’d rather gamble on myself and lose than end up regretting not giving it my all when I look back on my life one day. Even if I never “make it,” whatever that means, I know I’ll never regret trying. Taking risks is essential for growth, innovation, and authenticity in self-discovery. As I’ve gotten older and had time to reflect on my life, I’ve realized that I’ve constantly pushed boundaries and experimented with my limitations. Bold choices, whether they end in failures or successes, become stepping stones to something greater. I have certainly had more failures than successes, but I am equally grateful for the lessons that both have given me. Risk varies for everyone, depending on the perspective through which it’s viewed. As an artist, I strive to embrace uncertainty. In the end, taking risks isn’t just about making great art—it’s about evolving as an artist. Read More>>

I’m all for a risk! Taking risks got us where we are now in our business and I think you’d be limiting yourself to not be open to them. Just one example, I took a huge risk quitting my full time job to further pursue wedding photography in August of 2020. Looking back on it now seems absolutely crazy being that that was still the height of the pandemic and weddings were being postponed left and right. We were by no means established wedding photographers in the area yet, it hadn’t even been a full year since our first wedding so this was a big leap for sure. I was ready to fully focus on growing my business and I couldn’t be happier that I took that risk even though it was scary! Being a little uncomfortable forced me to be that much more driven to make this work. Read More>>

My work-life balance has changed drastically over the course of this career. In the beginning, I was grinding nonstop, hustling to put my name out there. With late nights and early morning it seemed the best tactic was to consistently be out there, wether it was on social media or collaborating with other creatives. Over the course of the years, I learned about fatigue and burnout.  Read More>>

As a full-time student, varsity athlete, school leader, and entrepreneur, finding a work-life balance has been a challenge. The accumulation of deadlines, pressing tasks, and extracurricular commitments could seem beyond intimidating. I learned that even with a demanding schedule and responsibilities, I could not put my best foot forward without taking care of myself first. Whether this looks prayer, journaling, spending time with friends and family, or setting aside time to do something I love, I cherish every moment of self-care. Read More>>
