Meet Tylor Miller | Author & Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tylor Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tylor, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Since a child, I’ve always had a love for writing. I refer to it as one of my gifts. Before writing my book, Echoes of Hope, I thought of ways I could monetize my “gift” while still trying to accomplish my ultimate goal, which is impacting my community through motivation. Growing up in my community there wasn’t enough “hope” instilled in us. I made it my mission not only to let “hope” echo within me but also to let it echo outward and inspire others to believe in themselves. While planning my book, I knew starting would be the hardest part, but I simply sat down and began typing, pulling inspiration from years of old journals. The rest, as they say, is history.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart? I believe it’s the combination of my background and my passion for inspiring others. Growing up in Miami shaped my perspective, and the support of my incredible mom, brothers, and grandparents, instilled a drive in me to succeed to one day better their lives.
As far as my journey, there were challenges, moments of self-doubt, and roadblocks. But the lessons I learned are invaluable. I learned the power of perseverance, the importance of community, and the unwavering belief in myself and my dreams.
What do I want the world to know? We all have a story to tell, a voice that deserves to be heard. My hope is to use my abilities to empower others to find their voice, share their stories, and create connections that leave a lasting impact.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were to visit and my goal was to show them the best time ever, we’d do several things. I would definitely show them why Miami is one of the most versatile places when it comes to food. I’m more on the cultural side than a five-star restaurant, so we’ll probably hit up places like “Miami’s Best Wings”, or “Snappers”. The goal is to have them try foods they can’t get outside of Miami!
Our adventure might start with exploring the city. Maybe going downtown and driving to see the lights and tall buildings, you can never go wrong with colorful scenery. Ending off with a venting session is always cool. It’s nothing like walking and talking with the ones you love!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank God, for he is the head of my life. Big shoutout to my amazing mom, brothers, and grandparents for their unwavering love and support! They’re my rock. Huge thanks to Miami Carol City Senior High for prepping me for life and giving me leadership opportunities that built my confidence. Go Chiefs! Huge shoutout to all the organizations and non-profits that poured into me emotionally and financially! Thank you. My Tennessee State University family – you guys are the best! Shoutout to a few of my mentors: Coach Devin Hill, Mr. Williams, Ms. KC! And lastly, to all the special people I grew up with – you kept me grounded and always had my back. You’re all part of my journey!
