Meet Tyler Tapley | Real Estate Broker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Tapley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
I learned to treat everyone fairly and honestly. You never know how other people will be able to help you in the future. When I was 22 and recently graduated from college (and looking for a job), several power brokers, developers, and high profile business men and women met with me. I was always treated with grace, patience, and humility.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a full time real estate agent based out of Memphis, TN. I work for Crye-Leike Realtors at their world head quarters and also work with my wife and a small team of fellow agents. We represent buyers and sellers throughout the world who are acquiring or selling residential and commercial properties. We mostly work with out of state investors who own (or are looking to own) investment/rental properties here, but we also work with first time home buyers, move-up buyers, retirees, and individuals looking to buy their forever home. I acquired my real estate license while still in college and previously worked at CB Richard Ellis which is one of the largest commercial real estate firms in the world (based in several states and publicly traded). I worked there for 5 years and around 2009 I shifted gears and started working with my parents (who are also Realtors and work for Crye-Leike) and my wife. Now my wife and I are responsible for selling over 300 homes annually throughout the Memphis area.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This one is pretty easy! Memphis is famous for their barbecue and live music so we would go to the world famous “Charlie Vergos’ Rendezvous” restaurant which is downtown. We love this place and amazingly we have had the good fortune of selling one of the owners a house! I also would highly recommend the Overton Square area because it has live music (Lafayette’s Music Room) plus incredibly beautiful bars such as Tiger & Peacock. The ambiance/setting are amazing and top notch. I’d also recommend a stroll inside Shelby Farms which is one of the largest urban parks in the world (and 100% free). We have a world famous zoo, other amazing restaurants, and other iconic/picturesque locations/settings.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to share my story with all of our clients (and potential clients) throughout the world. We represent individuals, families, private equity groups, corporations, and hedge funds that are based in other areas…but we also sell for a lot of clients that live here in Memphis.
