Meet Tavarus Taylor | Chief Executive Officer/Community Advocate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tavarus Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tavarus, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
At first, my main concern was simply surviving the layoff. At my age, it truly rattled me. I thought about how I had built this division and played a key role in the company’s growth. If I could do that for them, surely I could do it for myself. As a local, I was helping an out-of-town company boost its sales while my own situation was faltering. I decided to leverage my experience and connections to launch TNT Commercial Services 615.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As the CEO of TNT Commercial Services 615, and a local drag queen with a residency at ACME Feed and Seed on Broadway, I believe my journey transcends traditional business roles. My experience as a local radio host for “The Queens Table has further deepened my understanding of the importance of resilience and growth in both personal and professional realms.
Life’s heartaches and failures have taught me invaluable lessons, shaping not only my path but also allowing me to uplift others along the way. I am immensely grateful for the blessings I’ve received, and I firmly believe that no matter where you come from, blessings are always within reach for those who remain open to receiving them.
This year carries particular importance for me because I have regained my constitutional right to vote after losing it more than 20 years ago over $5.44. While I am excited to exercise this fundamental human right, I have encountered several challenges along the way, each of which has played a significant role in my personal and professional growth of who I am today. Both TNT Commercial Services 615 and my persona, Vivica Steele, are built on the principles of truth, inspiration, and individuality. Together, we aspire to create a positive impact in our community by embracing diversity and fostering growth.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I consider myself a private person when it come to friendships, favoring intimate gatherings such as hosting events at home. However, if I had a friend visiting and we needed to venture out, I would love to take them for dinner at either Southern Steak and Oyster in downtown or Park Cafe in Sylvan Park.
While I’m not particularly fond of bar hopping or bustling bar scenes, I do appreciate the cozy atmosphere of small gatherings with friends, where we can enjoy meaningful conversations. Whether it’s sharing a glass of white wine or sipping Four Roses on the rocks, I find those moments create the best memories.
That said, we all have that one friend who insists on going out for drinks and exploring the local scene. For a fun night out, I would suggest ACME Feed and Seed. They offer a fantastic atmosphere with great music, and I really enjoy the Music City Toppers there. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy live music while soaking in the vibrant energy of our city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My deepest appreciation for the unwavering support and dedication shown by two remarkable individuals within our team – my fiancé, Kolten Marvel, and our esteemed Marketing Director, Rachael Mason.
Kolten has been a pillar of strength and unwavering support, not only in my personal life but also in my professional journey. His tenacity and commitment to our shared dreams are truly incomparable, and I am incredibly grateful to have such a reliable and supportive partner by my side.
Furthermore, I would like to acknowledge Rachael’s exceptional creativity and seamless drive in her role as our Marketing Director. Her unique approach and dedication to her work have been instrumental in our success, and I am truly blessed to have her as part of our team.
I firmly believe that the credit for our collective achievements goes to the incredible team that surrounds and supports me. Their unwavering support and dedication does not go unnoticed, and I am truly grateful for the both of them.
