We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammie Polk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tammie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted people to see that achieving their goals is possible! There are so many who feel that they can’t do what they see others do because of what’s going on in their lives and that’s not always the case.

Making a few key tweaks can be the very thing needed to bring their dreams to fruition.

My first ever business came about because one of my husband’s coworkers wanted to know how a married couple with jobs were able to homeschool.

My coaching business started after I told a group of homeschool moms how I built that business and they couldn’t believe that they could use what they already knew to have the same type of business I did.

Now, I work with authors and show them how they can build multiple streams of income from the books they’ve already written….

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I help authors build multiple streams of income from the books and anthology chapters they’ve already written!

Through my BEST Mini Mastermind Sessions, I show them how I have my books to do just that and I also show them what I’ve helped other authors to do.

Multiple streams of income for authors goes far beyond a t-shirt and a pen or bookmark.

I have been blessed to build entire brands from my books and enjoy sharing that knowledge with others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, I would take them to the National Civil Rights Museum first because of the history therein.

Next, we’d go to Butteriffic Bakery and Cafe for THE best desserts in the city!

Then, we’d go on a BBQ binge between Tops, One and Only, Central, Interstate, and a few others.

Last, I’d take them to the one bookstore in Memphis that is truly a hidden gem!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God and my family — it ALL started with them!

Diana Johnson Bell — the teacher who inspired me to start writing.

Suzanne Taylor-King — the business coach who told me to stop trying to look like and be like everyone else and use my books to build my business.

Tameka Anderson — the business coach who pushed me to write the one book I didn’t think had any other value than being an e-mail freebie.
