We had the good fortune of connecting with Tameka McGhee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tameka, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a parent, one of the most impactful things I have done for my two boys is to instill a foundation centered on faith, integrity, and respect.

Teaching them the values of faith, integrity, and respect from a young age has been pivotal in shaping their character.
Faith has always been a cornerstone in our family, with scriptures and lessons on hope and belief being shared regularly.
Teaching them about integrity, making right choices, and valuing themselves has been essential. I have passed down the golden rule of treating others as they would like to be treated, instilling in them the importance of empathy and kindness.
Creating a strong foundation for my children akin to what my parents did for me, has been a top priority in my role as a parent.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Friends and Family Circle of Love is a home care agency that provides unique services to seniors and families of those individuals who are in need of personal care, companionship, respite care and much more. We are set apart from others as we are a smaller agency which affords us the opportunity to have a personal touch with our clients, utilizing our collective years of experience working with seniors.

We pride ourselves on treating each individual how we would want our love ones to be cared for, respected, and value.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

If my best friend was visiting the area for a week, I would take them on a tour of Memphis, starting with the historic Beale Street and iconic landmarks like the FedEx Forum and National Civil Rights Museum. While downtown, we would enjoy brunch at Sugar Shack and savor some classic barbecue at Cozy Corner. A visit to Tom Lee Park, Bass Pro Shop, St. Jude Research Hospital and Overton Square will be on the agenda.
A night out at live band shows would be a must, along with reserving Sunday for praise and worship at Light of Glory International Ministries followed by a day at Shelby Farms enjoying a meal at Coastal Fish Company.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to my brother,Broderick Gilchrest for his unwavering support and dedication to helping me bring my business idea to life. From late – night phone calls to providing creative input and designing my logo and T-shirts, his encouragement and innovative ideas have been invaluable in establishing my brand.
