We had the good fortune of connecting with Stefon Whitaker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own a growing film production company in Long Beach, CA called SW Films. We specialize in creating unforgettable cinematic visuals for local businesses, musicians and personal projects from narrative short films and documentaries. We are set a part by our competitive prices, travel for productions and experience that I have as the owner & operator of the business. SW Films has moved in 3 different markets. In Indiana, California’s Bay Area and now Southern CA. Navigating to SoCal is now the biggest challenge but we have gained the strength ahead by networking and researching the environment and gearing up to create Cinematic Excellence for the client.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Long Beach is a really cool and beautiful place! I would definitely take a trip to Signal Hill’s HillTop Park, for probably the best views in Long Beach of most of LA and Orange County.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shout out to 2 important women in my life. My mother, Mary and my beautiful girlfriend, Destiny. I love you dearly and I wouldn’t keep going without you.
