We had the good fortune of connecting with Simone Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simone, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process came from believing that all women are beautiful and should be afforded the opportunity to achieve their body goals without breaking the bank. Yes, we should be comfortable in our skin, but if we aren’t; it’s okay to change whatever we don’t see as beauty.
 

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is that although the goal is to make money, I’m more focused on truly women’s empowerment. Empowerment comes with looking and feeling good. Therefore, my prices for my services are always competitive. I’m great at what I do, so I’m sure-once you’re my customer, you’ll always be MY CUSTOMER. My biggest goal is making sure that my clients walk away feeling better then they did,l before they received services.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Favorite Places to Eat: Automatic Slims Sage; Tugs; Maciel’s; The Liquor Store

Favorite Places to hang out: Silly Goose; Sage; Hyatt Centric Rooftop; Esco

Places to grab a drink: Henhouse; Inkwell; tiger and peacock

BB kings for some live music; and you most definitely can’t forget to visit the Civil Rights Museum. Memphis is full of so much culture and history. There is no reason to not be able to have a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are plenty of people who deserve a shoutout. My clients, my sorority sisters, my friends but most of all, my sister. She and I have brained stormed for years about multiple streams of income, life after retirement etc. I credit her, because she’s always the one who pushes me off the ledge when I need it and also makes sure she’s there to catch me if needed as well. My sissy is the true definition of A1 since Day 1
