Meet Sierra Smith | Graphic designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sierra Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sierra, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I wanted to fulfill a passion that was second nature to me. If it’s forced it’s not for me. I’ve always been creative. I like to think of myself as a jack of all trades. I’ve been tech savvy my whole life. Im appreciative of all my gifts so it’s up to me to use them!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have a funny yet unique story. Luxx life was originally an online beauty supply store formally known as “luxx life beauty”. I soon realized this wasn’t where I was supposed to be.

I literally created a whole business unknowing luxx life beauty would be the demo leading me into my passion for branding and graphic design. I had a greater purpose. I wanted to help others get their entrepreneurial start just like I did. I jumped a lot of hurdles alone so I want to help other creatives and small businesses bring their vision to life.

Let’s be real being an entrepreneur is not for the weak. It’s been a difficult road but it’s not an impossible one. I had to learn that everything is a process. Nothing happens overnight. You must be prepared mentally for the “no’s”.

Learn to budget and start small. You have to be your biggest fan and promote as much as possible. Your brand goes way beyond instagram. You must be able to step out and get in front of the public.

I brand and design for creatives and businesses. I like to think of myself as a jack of all trades. I do photography videography graphic design web design and etc.

I’ve been recognized for my digital celebrity artwork. I’ve been recognized by KashDoll, Saweetie, & Nichole Lynel to name a few. I am most proud of being authentic. I am a self-taught designer. I’ve never been to college for my trade.

This is a God-given talent & I’m ready to share it with the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m originally from Memphis but I love visiting Nashville in my spare time.

I enjoy visiting the green hills mall for luxury brand stores. I also love visiting the Bridgestone arena for concerts. Super nice!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to recognize my lord and savior Jesus Christ for giving me my gifts and talents. He has sustained me when I felt like giving up time and time again. My son and family encourage me to keep going as well.
