Meet Sharen Rooks | Publicist & Business Professional

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharen Rooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharen, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The key to my success lies in dedicating myself wholeheartedly to my clients and the causes I support. Operating with unwavering integrity and letting my character speak for itself is crucial. Over the years and across different professions, I’ve been fortunate to build enduring relationships that span generations. My approach has always been centered on service, believing that true success comes when you wholeheartedly serve others. My brand is characterized by sophistication, polish, and straightforward intentionality. I navigate any room or environment with ease, actively listening to both spoken and unspoken cues. I live by the mantra, “Be what you say you are.” Witnessing the impact of my expertise and relationships amplifying my clients and projects is an exhilarating experience.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My professional journey began shortly after my experience in private-sector teaching. The passion for relationship building and creating awareness led me to establish an educational nonprofit. This journey inspired the development of Power Media Solutions, PR & Marketing Firm. While the road hasn’t been easy, the journey has been incredibly rewarding. I chose to self-fund my projects to educate others about the process, emphasizing the importance of investing in experts to avoid costly lessons.
One key lesson learned is the value of not oversharing and teaching others to respect your business through professionalism. I want the world to recognize my unwavering commitment to the work and my ability to serve clients with the necessary toughness for their growth. What sets my story apart is the uniqueness of a PR agency that not only provides services but is also willing to train, offer conferences, and provide hands-on support to meet entrepreneurs where they are. Oftentimes, people want to drain and pull from you, but you must remember to reset, refuel, and set boundaries. Every client is not meant for you to work with and that’s okay.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This one is a little challenging. I would take them to Helen’s Hot Chicken almost every day. We would stay at the Sonder near downtown Nashville where we could walk to almost everything kinda similar to Memphis’ Beale Street. We would take a trip to Gatlinburg, TN, and just get lost in time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I express my gratitude to my collaborative partners who have been instrumental in various projects and events over the years. Special thanks to Attorney Angela D. Green of The Green Law Firm, PLLC, Detrich and Nyteria Parrish of Adspressions, Leader Karen Camper from the TN Legislature, Christi Davidson of Customized Medical Needs, Amanda Avery, Editor of Bluff City Magazine, and the WorldFamous Leveda McCou. Their unwavering support is invaluable, and I appreciate their shared expertise and commitment to both professional and personal integrity, which resonates with my values.
