Meet Sharaea Preferred: Rae Lamb | Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharaea Preferred: Rae Lamb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharaea Preferred: Rae, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I believe it is important to effectively assess the business; is there really a market for the product or service, are costs unsustainably high, and, is your business not making any money, how many years are you willing to continue seeing a profit-loss? Evaluating self, and determining if all possible options and resources have been explored concluding if it may be time to bow out gracefully. Burn out, lack of time with family and friends, and mental exhaustion are also sometimes cause for giving up too. Keep going if you are willing to find new possibilities and you choose not to reject anything.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business-YuleTiideFlair, is a business with a niche market that caters to holiday occasions, holiday festive culture, and holiday fun activities. YuleTiideFlair is a fun, festive brand of custom holiday sweaters, socks, and holiday earrings. Our service offerings are truly specialized, because before starting my business, I had fun simply designing holiday sweaters by hand from specific festive requests. I’m here today because I decided to be apart of what makes the holidays fun, high spirited, and joyous! The journey has not been easy, and I am still faced with lots of adversity, however, my love for the business is what keeps me going. Lessons I’ve learned along the way…Do YOUR Research, be patient and stop thinking you’ll become an overnight success and get a mentor that’s an expert!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a long week trip, I would tell my friend to get plenty of rest prior to visiting because we’re going to be booked and busy 😊 Monday-We’d go to Sports & Social to enjoy some delicious bar food & sports.
Tuesday-We’d visit the National Museum of African American Music & afterwards we would visit Pushing Daisies for delicious cocktails & live music.
Wednesday-We’d have lunch at North Italia restaurant in green hills and go enjoy a matinee show at the Regal theater.
Thursday-We’d head over to Riddim N’ Spice to enjoy happy hour!
Friday-We’d enjoy a nice fun Tour w/ Joy Ride Nashville, then head over to the Farmers Market to enjoy “Nashville’s First Fridays-Hosted by Nashville’s Black Market
Saturday-We’d enjoy Brunch at Church & Union, visit Arlington Winery for a fun wine tasting, and then head over to Blindbarber-Nashville a cool hidden bar.
Sunday-We’d enjoy a Nashville Sounds Baseball game, then head over to the Hampton Social House’s rooftop for food, music, and more sports
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am grateful for my family and friends who encouraged me to move into the area of entrepreneurship. It was because of those friends/colleagues who pushed me to make custom holiday sweaters for their holiday events and competitions. My family for believing in my craft, and encouraging others to truly support the brand.
