Meet Savanna Leigh | singer/songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Savanna Leigh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Savanna, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Work life balance is something I continuously struggle with. It is for sure a work in progress still.. but it has changed a lot over time.
I used to think if wasn’t constantly working, to the point of exhaustion, that I wasn’t being productive, which would lead me to ultimately not being successful in a lot of different ways.
As I’ve gotten older I have had to learn to set work life boundaries in my career. It was a mindset switch…I think rest days are extremely important to my success. Without taking days off and without actually going out and living life, it is extremely hard to be creative or find inspiration when it comes to songwriting.
I’ve found the better balance I have, the more creative I feel.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think as an artist and as a singer/songwriter, my storytelling is what sets me apart. Every song that I’ve released, and the songs I write are based off personal experiences/feelings I have which makes the music I make unique to me. A really big thing for me has always been to create art that is authentic and as vulnerable as possible..
I got where I am today by being continuously learning as much as I can about the music industry, by surrounding myself with good people, by trusting my team, and by waking up everyday and choosing to pursue this dream despite the highs and lows that come with being a creative. It isn’t an easy career path, there is a lot of uncertainty and difficult days, but never giving up on yourself and your art is key.
I am really excited about next years music. These songs have a really special place in my heart and I’ve been sitting with them for a little while now.. I can’t wait to finally share these stories with the world, to be this vulnerable.. I am really proud of the new music.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think I’d stay away from Broadway in Downtown Nashville haha.. it is pretty touristy down there. I’d say I would go hiking at Radnor Lake, or go over to some cool trails near Bellevue area. I’d probably go to Dino’s in East Nashville or Cook Out over near downtown for a late night snack. And then I’d probably check out Golden Pony or Midtown area for a drink or just to hang out.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My manager Chandler Chruma.. 100% She came into my life almost two years ago now and has been my partner in this ever since. She’s not only a great manager, but she is one of my biggest supporters, and a dear friend. I always wanted to have a manager that I could also create a friendship with, I wanted both things to go hand in hand… She has believed in my music and in me since day one and having her on my team has taught me so much and inspired me to keep pushing forward no matter what.
