We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Tuck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I used to write when I was younger, and I had no idea that I would be writing books and plays today. I had showed some of my work to a couple of my girlfriends and they said that I needed to become a writer. I told them know one would want to read what I have to write. I thought no more about it until I was widowed for the second time. This is when I prayed and asked God for seven years, what was my purpose of still being here. Only because he had taken two husband and left me here. Then in May of 2014, I heard a voice say it’s your time, step out on faith. This is when I wrote my first play, then a wore about four plays, and then I decided to write a book. Now I have written eight to 10 plays and twelve books. God sat me in this position, and I’ve been going ever since. Its hard sometimes because I sometimes pay a lot from my pocket. I haven’t been lucky to get a grant, and if we don’t sell enough tickets. This is when I have to reach in my purse and pay the remaining of the bills myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, what I can say is when God Bless me with the gift, he blessed me with more knowledge and wisdom than I could ever ask for. Meaning, once I started writing books, I then learned how to flip them into plays, and then I learned how to flip my plays into books. Once I was able to do this then I moved forward in developing my own YouTube podcast show called ‘The Simply Sarah Show.’
Then in November 2023, I filmed my very first ‘Short Film, called What Do the Lonely Do for Christmas.’
I am currently now in the process of making the second part to this film. I’m hoping to make a series out of it.

The lessons that I’ve learned is to listen to God and follow where he leads me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to one of my plays if I was having one.
Then I would take them to Nashville, Tennessee and show them the downtown.
I would introduce them to some of my collogues in the movie industry.
I would love to take them out on the General Jackson. etc

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
JoAnne, Smith was one of the ones who first encouraged me to write. She had seen my gift and pointed it out to me earlier in life. So, I have her to thank for bringing it to my attention and believing in my skills and abilities of being a creative writer.
