We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sam, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My mantra this past year has been:

“Be the person you need to be in order to do the things you want to do.”

It’s something that I say to encourage growth and a getting out of my comfort zone.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I go by the artist name “Svble” (sable) and I focus on making high energy electronic music. This past year I have gone on a journey to find a style that is genuine and unique to myself. I’m really happy with the results and I’m excited to start sharing in 2024.

No artistic venture is easy. You continuously have to go through serious self reflection and growth in order to put forth the most genuine and exciting work. For me that begins by finishing and releasing songs. Also putting those songs in front of people, usually in a performance setting, but also through social media. It’s seems rather obvious when reading it, but it really is the best way to find yourself, what you love, what you want to do, and who you want to be as an artist. Ultimately, that’s what my whole project and any project I’m involved in is about. Connecting with your most genuine self, loving who you are, and letting that thrive for the world to see.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s lots to do in Nashville so I’ll keep it brief. We would have to hit all of our favorite food spots. Graze, The Be-Hive, and 5 Points pizza in East Nashville. Also our favorite sushi spot Blue Sushi and Sake Grill in Fifth and Broadway. Definitely need to hit some of our favorite local coffee spots like Ugly Mugs and Retrograde. Brunch from Southern V. Maybe a comedy show at Zanies and catch a show at The Office.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Wife Malea Wilson, my best friend Sammy Al-Hagal, the crew over at Full Circle Presents, and the DRIFT crew.
