Meet Ryan Price | Singer/Songwriter & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The whole idea of Six Gun Music Group started in 2017 when I was wanting to record some songs I’d written, but didn’t have the money. I decided to invest in some recording equipment and start recording myself. After a few trial runs, I started recording for a few friends of mine, as well as myself. It kind of just grew from there. I was putting out my own music, but started taking on more jobs for other people. It became something I loved to do, so I kept investing until the company became what it is now.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Six Gun Music Group is a relatively new venture, but I have been writing songs and performing for many years. Songwriting is probably my biggest passion. It’s also the hardest thing I know to be successful at. Thousands of songs are written every day in Nashville, so what makes yours special? To answer the question, it’s truth. Songwriting is about speaking truth.
That truth is what led to my biggest cut as a songwriter. In 2021, I co-wrote a song with Wyatt Flores called “Please Don’t Go”. Not too long after that, I found myself in a financial crisis (as does everyone at some point in Nashville haha). Fast forward to January of 2023. The song became viral on TikTok, and changed both mine and his lives. It provided so many opportunities for both us.
My goal as a songwriter is to reach people in a way that saves them, heals them, and makes them feel like they matter. If I can do that in a song, I have achieved my goal.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It’s Nashville, so we would probably be going to see a writer’s round just about every night. Some must do’s would be a Preds game, Whiskey Jam, a walk through Music Row, a trip (or many) to Red Door, Shake Shack for a good burger, and maybe a show at the Grand Ol Opry. All awesome things to do in town!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
From the time I started playing music at 13 years old, my parents have been my biggest supporters. They have been there in the exciting times, as well as the not so fun times. I don’t think I would be where I am in life if it wasn’t for their support. They were actually the ones that convinced me to love to Nashville to pursue music further!
Secondly, I’d like to shoutout my best friend and business partner Payce Goldsmith. We started playing music together in 2012, moved to Nashville together in 2021, and now run Six Gun Music Group together.
