Meet Rosa Castano | Keynote Speaker & Workplace Well-Being Expert

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosa Castano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosa, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Prior to marriage and having a child it was very easy to fill up my weeknights with networking events or activities. Especially living in a city as bustling as Nashville, I could easily could have found myself doing 3-4 networking events a week. Now I try to be more mindful of the things I say yes to. My time is much more precious and valuable. What is a nice to go to or a need to go to? I try to limit it to 1-2 a week and try to avoid back to back nights. Life runs easier when I am fully rested. Making sure I take that time to be home and replenished allows me to be the best at my job but also the best at hats I wear at home, which is wife and mom!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Workplace Stress Solutions was born from the pandemic. Much like many during that time, my job position was eliminated. I watched as the many struggled. Life was full of uncertainty and people were dealing with isolation and what that meant for their own mental health. Companies who had work from home orders were unsure on how to support their employees. I realized that Well-Being was something that needed to take spotlight for the workplace. Outside of my professional pursuits I had completed a Yoga Teacher Certification, Meditation Certification, and Mindfulness Based Stress reduction Training for personal and Workplace Facilitation. I realized that I could take my work experience and passion for wellness and well-being and create an intersection that brought realistic Stress Management practices to the workplace and individuals. Through all of the workshops there are elements of mindfulness and bringing people back to life fullfilment through work but also through personal goals. Often we get on this hamster wheel of life and we forget that we are able to step off at any time and take a pause. My goal is to help companies audit their workspace to see where they could help with elevating stress on their employees all while supporting the employees with stress management techniques as well.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite spots is a hidden gem near the Nations known as Miel. This is a place that truly has a European feel. Your table is your table for the night. The food and drinks are exquisite. This is a French inspired restaurant with one of the best chefs in town and Seema, the owner, truly has a gift for curating wines and experiences. Nashville also has so many wonderful places to hike and be outside. I enjoy “Walk and Talk” Meetings so going on walks around greenways are one of my favorite things. Nashville also has a plethora of rooftops on hotels and venues and these are some of the best spots to take in the views!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I would want to thank my mom for encouraging me to have the audacity to try. Things did not go as either of us had planned but she raised me with the courage and willingness to try and learn new things. Through ought each of my jobs I have made deep connections with individuals have helped guide me and support me along my way. The most credit now goes to my husband who has supported me starting my own business and has been a champion each step of the way.
