Meet Rof Roc | Journalist & Contents Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rof Roc and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rof, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Values form the core principles that guide our actions, decisions, and behaviors and the ones that matters to me are honesty, integrity, respect, kindness, empathy, fairness, responsibility, and more.
These values shape our character, relationships, and how we interact with the world around us. Identifying and upholding personal values helps in leading a fulfilling and purposeful life.
And for me, these are values that are very dear to the core foundation of my hustle in the first place.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Creativity often distinguishes individuals by their ability to think innovatively, connect ideas uniquely, and approach challenges with original perspectives.
For me, it’s about embracing curiosity, taking risks, and pushing boundaries in the various fields related to being a creative person in the journalism world.
What sets me apart from others is simply ‘uniqueness’ and constant self improvement in the arts.
What I’m excited about as a professional, is the rate at which things keep changing and the opportunity to also grow and tap into wisdom from people who are enlightened.
Simply put, I’m excited about how tech and expand your horizons in arts en bloc.
Getting to where I am today is nothing less than struggling and coming out victorious.
With little or if you want ‘no’ opportunities for upcoming creatives in my country, one has to bulldoze his or her way into the industry with hunger and determination that things will get better one day.
Lessons learnt along the way by trying to get to the top is “never give up even if you don’t win”.
I would like people to know me as a resilient and truthful person, striving for greatness and to bring change to Africa.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ghana offers a variety of fun places to explore as a tourist or visitor. You can visit the ever bustling city markets of Accra the capital, experience the cultural richness at the W.E.B. Du Bois as well take a relaxing trip on the Lake Volta.
Explore the historic Cape Coast Castle to get a first hand feel and education about the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade which officially ended in Ghana with the British passing the Slavery Abolition Act in 1833.
Additionally, Kakum National Park offers a thrilling canopy walk, while the art scene in Kumasi, Tamale and Koforidua provide diverse experiences into the rich culture of the indigenous people.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company, a media organization based in Ghana. They gave me the needed platform and mentorship throughout my formative years as a young journalist.
The learning experience gathered from GMA (Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company) propelled and elevated my confidence level for the uncertain future as I have matured to become an all round thanks to them.
Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company runs YFM Ghana, Happy FM as well as other important installations in the media space in Africa.
