We had the good fortune of connecting with Rocquell Bowles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rocquell, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought was having more of my time back. Corporate America was fun but ultimately I was never available or had no flexibility. I wanted more of my time to explore different opportunities in the financial space and build something of my own.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Best Life Consulting Group apart from other tax firms is we are a one stop shop for small business solutions. We help with tax, business formations, tax planning, tax debt resolution, bookkeeping, payroll, and strategic business planning. I feel like I’ve seen it all but it’s our resources and relationships. I value relationships more than money. Making money is somewhat easy but healthy relationships in the business world are hard to come by so I hang on to the good ones. I started my journey in 2018 and formed the business in 2020! I turned my hobby into income and in 2022 I went full-time as an entrepreneur. Starting my business wasn’t really hard but trusting the process and going full-time was scary. I’ve learned so much through my connections on how to help small businesses excel quickly by simply doing things right and having your affairs in order. What I want the world to know about me is that I’m your around the way Tax Geek & Business Consultant. I don’t shy away from the tough stuff I actually gravitate to it because it pushes me it elevates my brand and makes me unstoppable. I absolutely love my clients. They push me and they deserve nothing but the best from me and team! I also love to teach others how to do taxes. I’m known to duplicate my talents with ease.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve lived in ATL for 13 years and I still own property there. ATL is all about good eats and exploring different cultures. Apache Cafe is my absolute favorite hole in the wall for good vibes, music, poetry, food, drinks, and local talent. While I have lived in Memphis, TN since May 2022. I’m a real downtown gal and homebody! Memphis has good bar-b-que but my fav has to be Alcenia’s Southern Cuisine on Main! The food will touch your soul literally! The owner is BJ and she greets you with a hug and auntie forehead kiss!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother has been my biggest supporter. When things become hard she speaks life into me and advises me to never quit. My mom always says “ don’t take one step forward to take two steps back” I keep that saying front a center while moving through adversity as an entrepreneur. I face all challenges head on no matter how hard it gets or may seem. In order to reach your fullest potential you have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. You can never have all the answers. Remain a student and you will go far. Sometimes people forget to check on the strong people but with her support I feel unstoppable. One goal is to take care of her financially one day!
