We had the good fortune of connecting with Rick Monroe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rick, what are you inspired by?
“Life” I can’t help but be motivated by the world around me. With all it’s crazy twists and turns life is a never ending well of inspiration.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
That is a lot too unpack. First off, music is such an amazing art form. It starts with a simple lyric or a riff and then grows into a fully realized song. A song by itself is nothing without the work of some very talented people to help it become a recoding and then share it with the world. It really takes and army to make a hit song. I feel that we have a different approach to music because we don’t have a lot of people telling us what we should be writing or how we should be playing our music. Which is good and bad because we tend to be all over the music map, I feel like I have been successful because i get to do what I love and it is always a struggle because you constantly have to keep growing and moving forward, The biggest lesson is, “play music because you love it.” If you do that you will never be let down but If you’re just in it for the fame or money it’s gonna be a rough road, I want the World to know that we a creating music straight from our hearts and that we want to connect with as many people as we can.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, Nashville is a drinking town with a little music problem. There is so much to do here it’s impossible to list. Y’all just need to come to town and let me show you Music City!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My first Shoutout is to my Lord and savior, without whom I wouldn’t have been given the gifts to pursue my dreams. The second would be my mother for never doubting in my talents and instilling in me the belief that I have the ability to achieve anything I set my mind to.
