We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Seiler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My love for music was there from the very beginning. It felt like it was deep in my bones ever since I can remember. The love for singing came first, followed by my love for songwriting. Another love that has been there for as long as I can remember is my love for God. Growing up in church and in a christian family molded and shaped my life more than anything else. So naturally, when I put my love for music and my love for Jesus together, I was left with a huge passion to encourage and lift one another up through worship and christian music.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Life comes with lots of highs and lows. Through it all, my love for Jesus and music has carried me through, grounding me in the highest of highs and lifting me up in the lowest of lows. Has it always been easy? No. Life has a way of throwing you trials and tribulations. But what I’ve found, is that going through them makes you stronger on the other side. I know, that sounds cliche, but it’s true! In the moment it may feel like you aren’t going to make it, but keep going, better days are ahead, trust me. That’s what I hope to remind others with my music. I want to encourage, give people hope, bring them joy, and to ultimately let them know they are not alone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When I think of the journey to get to where I am now, I can’t help but think of a few people who have been constants and helped me along the way. First off, my family. They have been my biggest cheerleaders since day 1. Helping me pursue my dreams, encouraging and standing next to me through all the good and bad that comes with life. The second, is Bart Herbison (Executive Director at NSAI). He is like family to me. He has encouraged, challenged, and supported me since I met him in 2016. I am forever grateful to him and my family for being on this journey with me.
