We had the good fortune of connecting with Montae Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Montae, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My goal has always been to create a business to give back but also something I enjoy doing. So with the podcast, it’s much more than conversation, it’s about creating a platform for others to share their talent and their story. I want to create the next breakfast club of media. So once I realized I was officially done with sports, it was time to tap into my next talent.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Honestly, I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but it’s amazing to see my growth and how far I’ve come. What sets me apart is that I’m truly being myself, I’m not in this for clicks or views. I genuinely love hearing others share their stories.
Every day comes with its own challenges, but I made a promise to myself and my grandma before she passed that I would make this happen. My goal is to do something different for my family by creating generational wealth. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that people can be disappointing, so I don’t put anyone on a pedestal. I stay balanced—not too high, not too low.
I want to be remembered as someone who cared and made a positive impact. With so much negativity in the world, especially in the media, I want to use my platform to spread positivity, alongside with my co-hosts, Leon and Liv.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First things first, we’re hitting the basketball court because I love hooping with my friends. After that, it’s time to eat, wings are my go-to, so I’ll be taking them to a few of my favorite spots, including Ching’s Wings and Flava Shack Seafood. In my opinion, Flava Shack has the best seafood, and my family and I used to go there all the time.
We also have to check out downtown Memphis, it’s rich in history and definitely a must visit. And if we decide to go out at night, we’ll stop by ENV Restaurant Lounge, a great spot to unwind.
Aside from that, I just love being around my family. They’re a lot of fun, and honestly, I could spend all day with them. Of course, they get on my nerves sometimes, like every family does but that’s all part of the love!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My motivation originally started from my injury, I tore my Achilles working out for a team in Denmark. I was back in the states and I started to watch a podcast called Million Dollars worth of game and I love that not only they share wisdom and knowledge for the youth but also allow the older generation to come on and share their story and give free game to others. We all can learn from someone.
