We had the good fortune of connecting with Milly Roze and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Milly, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
As a lover of music, singing and sound therapy, I feel it is my responsibility to share the power of music with the world and my community. Sound can be used as a tool for healing and connecting. I am here to offer the knowledge that is all within us, and how we can use it to heal our inner most self through sound.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been surrounded by music in so many different areas of my life. I started out taking piano, voice lessons as a young child. And once I got to high school, I was a part of a singing group called infinity. During this part of my life, I was able to learn about the music business and how the industry works. I always knew I loved music, but I never understood how the ins and outs worked until this time of my life. this was my first time in a studio and my first time learning about what it takes to be a musician.

I was going through a lot of changes during this time of my life, and it was hard to maintain this character that we were being shaped into becoming. I honestly just wanted to be a young adult, Have fun and enjoy music independently.

I ended up going to college for audio production, because I decided I wanted to learn more of the technical aspects of music. I graduated with the a bachelor of arts and audio technology and production.

Years, after that, I sought out a solo career that was very challenging to maintain, and I also tried getting jobs in studios, but that was also very hard to do as well. I’m sure every musician can attest that this is not an easy journey because it’s so competitive, and you are always having to fight to get to a finish line that really has no end. I didn’t wanna fight be the best I just wanted to create make art. So I built my own home studio and created a few cells, produced EP’s and build a foundation on my own.

In the year of 2020 I began experimenting with sound. I began tying all the knowledge I had learned through all the years I had done music with the ancient knowledge. I discovered that sound can be used as a tool and Music can be used for mind-body connection.
I realized that I could be of service to others with this, by using something that I love, music, to help the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am half Korean and I absolutely love Korean food. If any of my friends were in town, I would immediately take them to a Korean restaurant. Food is the best way to connect to the ones you love.

I also really like this place called flamingo on Wednesday nights because they have an improv night. It’s just a really cool hang out spot.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother introduced me to music at a very young age. She loves to play guitar, but never really took it on professionally. Although she could have, because she is an amazing guitarist. She would sometimes go to nightclubs and ask to get on stage and play without needing to get paid for it. She just loved to play and wanted to do it at every opportunity she could For the love of it. This was very inspiring for me because it showed me that you can do something because you love doing it and it doesn’t have to be a job.
