Meet Michelle Francine Turner | Voice Actor & Learning Strategist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Francine Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelle Francine, why did you pursue a creative career?
My career has always operated from my God-given strengths and talents, such as data processing, analysis, teaching, and organization. But, I was craving an outlet through digital art, music, and acting. Talent in these areas wasn’t clear or dominant, but I knew it lit a spark inside me. I became passionate about various forms of creativity! It was a therapeutic and healing practice that became work that I loved to do day in and day out.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a geek and an educator! I obtained my first degree in Computer Sciences then later I pursued my Masters in On-line Education. Thanks to one of my instructors, a seed was planted in me to explore my public speaking abilities in the world of voice-over and voice acting. While working full-time for well-known software companies, I leaned into the voiceover industry in my free time. I’ve taken acting classes. Attended voiceover conferences. Got representation through a talent agency. And now, I work with a commercial voice-over coach and have started my digital media company, Michelle Francine Productions, LLC.
My digital media company aids Marketers, Creative Directors, Business Owners, Film Makers, Educators, and Producers with projects or events that require clear communication, messaging, or enablement! My services include:
1. Voiceover Production
2. Music Library
3. Instructional Design
4. Technical Training/Public Speaking
5. Consulting
If you’re an aspiring voice talent who needs coaching to get started in the industry, I’m here to help. My small business truly is a culmination of my workplace strengths and talents; all in service to those who need help bringing their digital media projects to life!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you’re visiting me, we’re going to visit some of the best cocktail bars, restaurants, and parks for a little bit of exercise!
Day 1: Fly into Memphis International Airport (MEM) by 10 am, take a driving tour around downtown, and visit Mud Island for a walk. Then, we’ll go to Paulette’s Restaurant for lunch and visit “The Pyramid” after.
Day 2: Let’s get a good night’s rest and wake up early to hike through Overton Park and eat breakfast at Complicated Pilgrim. Later, we can head to Loflin Yard for an outdoor bite to eat.
Day 3: Wanna watch a movie? We’ll go to a local Malco Theater, order food from the grill, buy a cocktail (or two), and watch a double feature! After, we should head over to the Hen House for dinner and…yes of course…drinks!
Day 4: Since we ate and drank waaayyy too much yesterday, let’s get up early to hike Shelby Farms. After exploring ALL of the trails, we’ll rest up and have dinner at Boscos Squared. After dinner, we can walk over to the rooftop bar, Tiger and Peacock.
Day 5: It’s your last day with me, so we should sleep in then head back downtown to explore Tom Lee Park and walk over to Bishop for a luxurious lunch with drinks at Bishop. Don’t worry, our airport is very small and easy to navigate. I’ll get you to your flight home by 3 pm.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this article to my Voiceover community of friends and colleagues. Without the consistent cheers of Kendra M CH, Andy Chadwick, Regina Walker, Kendra M CH, Geddes Gibbs Jr., Angie Neilsen, and Carl Kevin Robinson Jr. I wouldn’t be able to hold and keep my head up through the ups and downs of the entertainment industry.
