We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Conley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michele, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Success has always been an important factor for me. As time passed I still wanted the success, but personal freedom became second most important to me. I realized that work-life balance was a priority for my physical and mental well-being. Entrepreneurship gave me that opportunity.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I‘ve always been an artistic person. My creativity is what drew me to cake decorating. I loved the thought of starting something from scratch and making it into something beautiful. When you love what you do of course there will be challenges. However, I love a challenge. Thats what I want the world to know about my brand is no matter how the difficult the situation is, I’m going to show up and show out.

Being an entrepreneur for 20 years is an achievement that I’m most proud of. It’s been a long yet rewarding journey and I look forward to the many years to come. Providing my clientele with stellar service and going above and beyond expectations has contributed to my reputation and success. I pride myself in having the spirit of tenacity when it came to overcoming challenges. I learned that staying focused involves not looking back, but forward. Looking at my story and brand, I want the world to know that there’s beauty in the struggle.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My first stop would be Smooth Living, they have the best smoothie and hood rolls. The next stop would be the River Walk Downtown to enjoy some fresh air. A must have pampered day at Minks By Malaun, the best esthetician ever. The night life would have to be at THRIVE in Midtown because it’s always a vibe! Our last stop would have to be Pretty Little Tacos.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout out my one and only, my daughter Kiya Bethea and the best mom ever Charlene Conley. They were always a phone call away. These two have always been my rock. Whenever I fall short, they’ve always been here to pick me up.
