We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael James and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that risk is an integral part of any actor’s journey. Without taking risks, we limit our potential for growth and exploration as artists. Personally, I’ve found that some of my most rewarding roles and experiences have come from stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing the unknown. Whether it’s diving into a challenging character or choosing unconventional projects, taking risks has allowed me to push boundaries, evolve creatively, and connect with audiences on a deeper level. Of course, there’s always a level of uncertainty that comes with risk-taking, but I’ve learned to trust my instincts and embrace the journey, knowing that it ultimately leads to growth and fulfillment in my craft. i left Memphis in 2022 and moved to Atlanta. Started doing background work. 2023 i start receiving speaking role, then supporting lead role, and now doing lead role. i took the risk leaving my city to here to chase my dreams and now the risk i took is beginning to take off.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an actor from Memphis who transitioned from rapping to acting, my journey has been one of humble beginnings, hard work, and perseverance. I’ve always been proud of staying grounded and humble, despite the success I’ve achieved. Learning to be more professional and taking my craft seriously has been a pivotal part of my growth as an artist.

Facing financial struggles and going broke at times has been a reality I’ve had to navigate, but it’s only fueled my determination to make ends meet and succeed in this industry. My first two movies, “TIT For Tat” and “BFFs,” (directed by Mya Speller and Terry T. Miles) showcased my talent as a supporting lead, and now with “Tears Of A Hustler” Series Season 1 (directed by Silk White, I’m thrilled to dive deeper into character-driven storytelling.

What sets me apart is my authenticity and dedication to my craft. I pour my heart and soul into every role, striving to bring depth and realism to my characters. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come and the growth I’ve experienced along the way. My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth every obstacle and setback.

I want the world to know that my brand is rooted in resilience, passion, and authenticity. My story is one of overcoming adversity and chasing dreams against all odds. I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions relentlessly and never give up on themselves. My art is my voice, and through it, I aim to uplift and inspire audiences around the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I dont go out as much. Im still new here in Atlanta myself. Ive recently start doing Vegan. So going to alot Vegan spots has been journey. Trying to find places that really have alot of vegan options.
