Meet Meredith Corning | PR Agent & Event Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Meredith Corning and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Meredith, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born and raised in Arkansas and growing up in the southern United States has instilled an appreciation for traditional values in my life. It’s easy to become jaded by the world but I never forget where I came from. The women I knew who lived through the 20th century in the south possessed a gentile nature however when push comes to shove, they are tough as nails. I do my best to be courteous and fair at all times, knowing that no matter what, people are just people at the end of the day. Everyone is going through their own journey with their own perspectives in life full of trials and tribulations of various magnitude. I have been saying for years that there is a certain traditional decorum that is being lost over the recent years that needs to be carried on by the younger generations. I will continue to do my part to model good manners in life and in business. With that being said, I do not tolerate inappropriate and unprofessional behavior. We must respect others’ boundaries and learn to work together for optimal outcomes.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I own Meredith Corning PR and Meredith Events, a bespoke PR agency and event planning firm that offers an array of experiential techniques used to showcase brands in unique ways. My clients like the fact that working with me ensures a clear strategy which radiates through their companies for years to come. Our projects are not a simple “one and done” as I intentionally create strategies with long-lasting effects. It has taken years to hone this skill as a creative myself. I am a writer, dancer and artist so I truly understand the necessity of creating and promoting what you create for longevity. I have tried and failed plenty of times but this is all part of the process and strengthens my abilities as it allows me to perfect my craft. Learning from mistakes will only help you be better and better as time moves forward. The important part is to keep it moving forward.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in the Ozark Mountains which are a sight to behold within themselves. There is a particular energy in these mountains that draw visitors back time and time again. From its southern hospitality to its interesting artisans to its unique recreational activities, there’s a little something for everyone. You can dine on a 5-star steak dinner or indulge in truly southern cuisine like shrimp and grits and everything in between. We have amazing art museums and galleries like Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art founded by the Waltons and much more niche independent artist-owned galleries, too. Arkansas is “the natural state,” so if you love the outdoors, you will love it here. There are always tons of events going on if someone really wants to embrace the culture.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I definitely would not be where I am at without the support of my family. Thankfully, they have given me the space to focus on my work. They understand that without the ability to create, that restless energy swallows me up until I allow it to express itself. Even my wildest ideas that others could look at and think maybe I took an idea too far, my family is always there encouraging me to keep going and putting my thoughts out to the world. They remind me not to care what others think because that certainly is not the point in creating and I want to be pure in my efforts.
