Meet Megan Jenkins | Wedding and Event Content Creator & Dental Hygienist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always enjoyed creating content for my own personal social media. I had started assisting wedding planners last year and I loved the wedding atmosphere. It was so much fun and getting to see people’s love stories first hand was amazing. I realized there was a gap that needed to be filled from the wedding day! Couples want to be able to relive and enjoy there day and usually their photographer and videographers need time to edit what they have captured. I come in and give them something to view within 24 hours of their wedding day! They will get over 800 photos and short video clips that they can enjoy from their wedding straight to their phone the next day!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I created Just a Spoonful of Events to be able to capture all the behind the scenes moments and memories of the wedding day and to give the couple photos and videos to be able to relive their beautiful wedding day. Couples put so much time, effort and money into planning their beautiful day and it goes by so quickly. Photos & videos are really all you will have to remember your special day. I provide raw, candid and unposed footage to the couple to be able to enjoy within 24 hours! I would say what sets me apart from other wedding content creators would be my ability to go above and beyond. I’m not just there to capture your day, I’m also there to make you laugh, help get rid of your nervous jitters and basically become your personal paparazzi!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First stop would for sure be Osteria Stella! My absolute favorite restaurant in all of Knoxville. We could then pop over to the other side for some cocktails at Brother Wolf. On Saturday mornings, I love visiting the Farmer’s Market in Market Square. And of course in the fall, I love spending time with family and friends watching the Vol’s games! Coffee is a must and I love taking friends to visit Mahalo, yum!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shout out my mom for always encouraging me to follow my dreams and never give up. I’d also like to thank my boyfriend for convincing me to create my business! I would also like to thank Carmen Nations & Alanna Bradley, both wedding planners, who also encouraged me to pursue a career in the wedding industry! Both women have cheered me on and helped my business flourish.
