Hi Martell, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
I find it disheartening that we have metamorphosed into a generation obsessed with hustle and grind. Merely exerting immense effort on something does not guarantee success or fulfillment. Time, the most invaluable asset we possess, slips away if we devote it solely to work. What is the purpose of all the toil if it leaves us devoid of meaningful experiences and connections? I realized that life holds greater priorities beyond exhausting myself and neglecting everything and everyone else. Rather than being perpetually overburdened and exhausted, the true aim is to achieve a sense of accomplishment and contentment.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a full-time Deputy Sheriff, I understand the importance of blending law enforcement with fashion. It is crucial to convey pride in oneself through every aspect of our work in law enforcement, including our appearance. A properly fitting, clean, and well-groomed uniform, along with a pleasant fragrance, all play a significant role in showcasing the type of individual we are. Ultimately, our attire speaks volumes about us, and a sloppy or unprofessional image can be detrimental, as it suggests a lack of commitment. Embracing this ideology has provided me with numerous opportunities to thrive in my career, thanks to the person I choose to be.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I enjoy a nice adventurous day starting with a nice breakfast spot. Followed up by one of the amazing parks or lakes to walk around. Also drinks at one of the many bar establishments here. Finishing up with one of the amazing food spots here.

In the realm of unwavering support, my loving wife, Ashley Washington, has been my guiding light. There have been moments when surrender seemed tempting, yet she steadfastly refused to allow it. Her encouragement reverberates in every single moment of my existence. Alas, bereft of her presence, the achievements I have attained today would remain mere dreams. To her, I offer nothing but boundless admiration and gratitude.
